Wow. Just wow. After posting about my nerve ending discomfort, a fabulous lady and good friend reached out to me and offered me a treatment. Today I had my first acumassage treatment which gets into the myofascia to stimulate repair. Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much Che Young Wellness , that was exactly what I needed 🙌👌👊

What are your lymph nodes and why are they important? Especially when (like me) they have been cleared/removed from your armpit...
Lymphoedema is an ongoing concern (it can occur at any time).

17th Jan 2026 - health check in
* 6 months ago today - surgery/full mastectomy inc full lymph node removal/farewell Bob the B**b
* 3 months ago today - my last/15th radiotherapy treatment

How am I?
- Back to full time dog walking/normality as from end of October - YAY!
- Still doing my daily arm/shoulder exercises
- Still moisturising/massaging the scar site twice daily (so necessary/relieving)
- Still lots of numbness/discomfort in chest/arm - boy they weren't kidding when they said nerve endings take a long time to recover!

Oh and I'm NO LONGER PINK! And I got a replacement puppy for my missing one 😁 Meet Bowie the springer spaniel pup 🐾❤️

NEW BOB!!
2nd Dec and I'm currently sat on a train on my way to an appointment that I'm actually excited about throughout this whole process! I'm being 'fitted' for my new prosthetic Bob! Wonder if I can get them to make it look like this.... Seems all the rage...

* Ribo - what?! And the menopause *
Following on from my consultation on 6th Nov, I have today (27 Nov) had a follow up phone consultation with my oncologist. And the GREAT news is that I won't be taking Ribociclib after all! The main reason being that, at 52, I haven't been through the menopause as yet and Ribociclib hasn't been tested with Tamoxifen (that I'm already on) for perimenopausal women. My option? To induce the menopause by either injections or keyhole surgery (to remove my ovaries) and then start after that. With a drug that is so new that no one really knows how effective it is.
My decision?
NO THANKS! And happily my consultant agreed.
Continue with 'normal' life and hope my potentially 'lying dormant' cancer won't reappear.
