Hi lovely people. I've been given the go ahead to teach again in Charmouth Village Hall from 19th May this year. Classes will run from 6.30-8.00pm every Wednesday.

The hall floor space can take a maximum of 12 people safely socially distancing so i'll put a booking system in place. Participants will be required to bring their own mats, blocks etc as I will not be able to loan equipment initially. Please don't forget to bring a blanket for relaxation 😊

Due to the nature of the class, masks will not be required to be worn through the class but the hall will need to be well ventilated so please wear enough layers to keep warm throughout the class.

As a test run went so well, I am going to set up classes online. If you are interested in doing yoga in the comfort of your own home let know what dates and times would suit you best. I can do an early morning class Mon-sat providing it ends at 8.30am Mon-Fri, Sat could be a bit later, and classes after 5.15pm mon-thurs and 4.15pm on a Friday. I have set up zoom so I can offer 45, 60 or 90 minute classes. I may look to do a guided meditation on a Sunday if anyone is up for that as well. Let me know if you'd be interested. Namaste 🙏xx

Day 1 of lockdown. Tips to help keep a healthy mindset.

🌺If you are self isolating or working from home try keep to your normal daily routine.

🌺Get up and avoid lie-ins.

🌺Have a shower/bath.

🌺Get dressed as if you were going out to work or socially.

🌺Try to stick to set mealtimes, don't let them drift and snack through the day.

🌺Take a break part-way through the day and have your daily walk/run/cycle, ensuring you stick to the 2m social distance rule.

🌺If you are self-isolating walk round your garden, however small it may be.

🌺Get the sun on your face. Vitamin D helps our immune system.

🌺Focus on the breath. Breathe in and out slowly for 5 mins. Try to increase this by a minute each day. Allowing the lungs to fully expand and take in optimum amounts of oxygen helps the thinking, rationale part of the brain and stops the flight/fight response.

🌺If you are isolating with family, a 20 second hug helps to release endorphins that help us to stay happy and positive.

🌺Don't be afraid to cry! Bottling our fear up is not healthy. Having a cry can release some of those pent up emotions, allowing us to then carry on with a more balanced emotional outlook.

🌺Keep talking to family and friends. Take advantage of modern technology and use facetime/skype/what's app to see the person you are talking to.

🌺Keep up to date with the news but don't make it the focus of your every minute. Constantly watching or following posts about the situation can make you feel overwhelmed. Keep a healthy balance.

🌺Don't forget to laugh. Watch a comedy or your favourite comedian. Laughing releases happy hormones.

🌺Most of all, look after each other in these trying times. Whoever and wherever you are, someone loves you and is thinking about you right now.
