๐ธ Celebrating George Harrisonโs Birthday โ 25th February
On 25th February, residents at Birchy Hill Care Home came together to celebrate the birthday of the legendary George Harrison.
The session began with an engaging artist profile reading, exploring Georgeโs life, his musical journey, and his role as lead guitarist of The Beatles. Residents enjoyed learning โ and reminiscing โ about the height of Beatlemania, his songwriting talents, and his later solo career. The reading sparked wonderful conversations, with many sharing memories of watching the band on television, buying their records, and dancing to their songs in their younger years.
We then moved into a lively sing-along featuring some of Georgeโs most loved songs. The lounges quickly filled with music and smiles as residents joined in, clapped along, and even swayed gently to the familiar melodies. Music has such a powerful way of bringing people together, and this celebration was no exception.
The session supported reminiscence, encouraged social interaction, and created a warm, uplifting atmosphere. It was a lovely tribute to a musical icon and a joyful reminder of how timeless songs can continue to connect generations.
