Huge congratulations to Molly who last Monday completed her epic challenge of running 26.2 miles from Sandbanks to The Chequers in Lymington.

Running in memory of her Dad, Molly was greeted by the cheers of friends and family to celebrate her immense achievement.

Thank you Molly, not only did you raise a fantastic £4370 for us at Oakhaven but also £1935 for AMMF, making a massive total of £6305!

Oakhaven Hospice will have a 'Beautiful Border' at the Gardeners’ World Spring Fair in Beaulieu, Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd May.

The theme for the 2026 Beautiful Borders competition is ‘Once upon a time’. If you're planning to come along to the fair, do come and visit our stand and see our Beautiful Border “Bob’s Full Circle – a border of hope, love and community”, designed by Claire Booth. (And please vote for us! 🌻)

Oakhaven Hospice Trust is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Commercial Development Manager to lead the creation, implementation, and growth of innovative income-generating initiatives. Flexibility will be key to the success of this role, which is pivotal in developing sustainable commercial opportunities that complement our existing fundraising activities and support the long-term financial stability of the hospice.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior colleagues, you will take ideas from concept through to delivery—driving profitability, operational excellence, and meaningful impact.

Please note that there will be no drop-in sessions at the Coates Centre on Monday 30th March. Art for Wellbeing and Craft for Wellbeing in the Pennington Chase art room will continue as normal.

Additionally, there will be no drop-in services on at the Coates Centre on the afternoon of Wednesday 1st April. The Bereavement Support Group will go ahead as normal between 10.30am -12.00 noon. Following this session, drop-in services will not be available for the remainder of the day. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

All pre-booked complimentary therapy appointments will continue unaffected.

🧁 Care for a Cuppa? 🫖

Could you host your very own Care for a Cuppa tea party or coffee morning to help fund Oakhaven's care for local families?

Our vital care and support is provided free of charge to patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families and loved ones. Yet only 11% of our costs are covered by the NHS. For the remainder we are grateful to everyone in our community who helps us fundraise, makes a donation and leaves us a gift in their will, helping us to make every moment matter for families across our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities.

Oakhaven Hospice is looking for a compassionate and skilled Community Palliative Care Nurse to join our Community Nursing Team.

In this role, you will provide high-quality, holistic palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families in their own homes or care settings. The role will also involve telephone advice and support through our SPA (single point of access).

This is a hands-on, rewarding role that makes a real difference to patients and their families.

In December we announced the results of our 2025 Staff Awards. Overall 78 members of staff were nominated. The nominations were judged by an independent panel of trustees and volunteers. Each week we're shining a spotlight on our award winners!

⭐ Congratulations to Tina Potter, winner of our MEANINGFUL Award ⭐

"Tina continues to maintain a high quality of care to patients and will always go beyond to enhance the patients quality of life. That may involve phoning the warehouse to source a recliner chair for a patient with very swollen legs, she will then to organise a volunteer driver to take the patient to the Oakhaven shop, at the end of a day hospice day, to chose the chair most suitable chair for their needs and will see it through to organise the delivery of the chair. There are many other examples"

"Tina is very good at multitasking and can always be relied upon to say yes to a challenge and find ways of going forward. She is supportive to the team. "

Connect with others who are experiencing grief or loss.

Our next Bereavement Support Group will be on Wednesday 1st April February from 10.30am to 12noon, at the Coates Centre - for anyone living in our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities who is experiencing a loss or bereavement.

Supported by volunteers, you are welcome to drop in for a relaxed chat over a cup of tea or coffee. It is also a chance to meet others living locally and going through a similar loss. We appreciate it may not be an easy decision to attend; you are welcome to bring a friend or family member.
We are here to support you.
