Help fund the RAF Commemorative Stained Glass Window
The planned decommissioning of RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, brings to an end an impressive historical 100 year legacy as the home of the Dambusters and the RAF Red Arrows display team. St John the Baptist Church, Scampton has had a close relationship with RAF Scampton through the dark days of two world wars, the cold war and peacetime. The graves are an important reminder of the very close bond that has existed between the local community and those who served their country.
A suggestion was put forward, that a stained glass window might be commissioned to mark the 100 year (1918 to 2018) relationship between RAF Scampton and Scampton Church. The window is to depict a Lancaster, Vulcan and Red Arrows. Many members began their working lives in the armed forces and Hearing Star are supporting this project by sponsoring a part of the window with a donation of £500 to build Red 1 of the Red Arrows display team. Please look online for further details www.scamptonchurch.org/raf-stained-glass-window.
Please could you help by making a donation? If members send their cheques to Hearing Star, we will further match the total received (up to £500), doubling the final total. Any amount would be a great help towards the £23k required to construct this lasting memory. Cheques should be made payable to St John the Baptist Church Scampton. Please send your cheque to Hearing Star, Suite One Lymington Business Centre, Cannon Street, Lymington, Hampshire SO41 9BR. Thank you!
