We made it through January!

Happy Imbolc to you all as we celebrate the mid-point between the winter solstice and spring equinox. Yesterday felt almost spring-like, with warm sunshine and blue skies. The odd sharp shower and a beautiful rainbow on my dog walk made me feel optimistic.

The birds know that spring is coming - you can hear it in their song. The first signs of spring are appearing - daffodils, snowdrops and catkins and we have a full snow moon at 10.09pm - a perfect time to let go of what no longer serves you and to think about what you’d like to invite into your life this year.

For most of us, Christmas is a season of joy. But for families saying their last goodbyes, it can be the hardest time of all. At Oakhaven Hospice, we know how precious those shared moments can be.

A special Christmas gift of £40 could cover an hour of nursing care for someone staying in our Inpatient Unit on Christmas Day.

You see, our care doesn't stop for the holidays. On every day over the festive period, our nurses will be at a bedside, or on the phone to a worried family, or driving to help someone in their own home. We are there for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But we can't do this alone.

It costs over £24,500 every single day to provide our free hospice care - and this winter, demand is rising while costs climb. We simply cannot help everyone who needs us without the kindness of supporters like you.
