Residents really loved joining our recent Cardio Drumming session and bringing the beat to Linden 🥁🎶 with drums, shakers, tambourines, and twirling ribbons.

Everyone joined in at their own pace, filling the lounge with music, movement, and lots of laughter!

We were delighted to welcome pupils from Lymington Infant School to Linden House for a joyful morning of singing and arts and crafts recently 🎼🎨

It was lovely to see residents and children spending time together, sharing creativity, conversation, and plenty of smiles. We’re proud of our close relationship with the school and look forward to continuing this valued partnership in the months ahead.

A special visit from Mr Kelloggs at Linden House 🐴

The Shetland pony spent time with residents in lounges and rooms, offering calm, one-to-one interaction. Barbara especially enjoyed meeting him up close.

A lovely visit, made even more fitting with the Year of the Horse approaching.

Join us on Wednesday 25 February, 5pm–7pm, for Shine a Light on Dementia - an open evening at Linden House, welcoming anyone who would like to learn more about living well with dementia ✨

Follow a gentle, light-filled trail through our gardens, with reflective displays offering insight into dementia and the experiences of those affected. Along the way, there will be time to pause, enjoy hot drinks and homemade refreshments, and speak informally with friendly professionals.

This is a relaxed, welcoming event - whether you’re coming to learn, connect with others, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Each guest will also receive a small, thoughtful gift to take home.

The event also supports Oakhaven Hospice, helping us give back to the local community we’re proud to be part of.

We’re looking forward to another month of Creative Café sessions at Linden House 🎨

Every Monday, residents, carers, family members, and the wider community are invited to join us for a relaxed, welcoming space to paint, draw, and craft together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get creative, enjoy great company, and spend a morning immersed in creativity.

Come along, bring your ideas, or simply enjoy being part of the creative atmosphere — everyone is welcome!

A magical afternoon with Lymington Infant School 📚✨

Children visited Linden House to read stories to residents, and our residents shared stories back. Companion Linda also read to the whole group, and everyone joined in singing a few songs.

It was a joyful, engaging visit full of smiles and laughter — a special intergenerational experience we hope to do again soon!

Residents at Linden House enjoyed a wonderfully Scottish afternoon, with highland dancing on the TV and traditional music filling the room 🥂🎶

Residents danced and sampled haggis prepared by our Chef — and, of course, there was cake!

It was a joyful celebration of Burns Night, full of music, laughter, and community spirit.

Sunshine, sea views, and plenty of smiles for Linden House 🌊☀️

After days of rain, our residents made the most of a sunny trip to the beach, enjoying coffee, biscuits, and the beautiful view. From the shore, they spotted the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and even the Isle of Wight!

💙 Can you help us shine a light on dementia? 💙

Linden House is planning a three-day Community Garden event this February, bringing people together to inspire, educate, and raise awareness around dementia.

We’re inviting community groups, schools, and local businesses to help create a beautiful light display for the garden. Contributions can be simple — painted jam jars with LED tea lights — or more intricate, weather-proof installations. Every light will play a part in shaping the atmosphere and message of the event ✨

You can also choose to sponsor the event, with all sponsorship and funds raised donated directly to Oakhaven Hospice.

At Linden House, we see first-hand how music can support memory, wellbeing, and a sense of self for people living with dementia. This understanding is at the heart of our monthly Musical Moments sessions, open to those living with dementia and their carers.

With just over a week to go until our next gathering, we’d love to welcome you. If you can't make it this time, don't worry - the sessions are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
