Hello, my name is Islay and I am a Sports Massage therapist . I have a happy, bubbly personality and I am often told I have brightened up a clients day. I have always been a very active person and my hobbies include the gym, horse-riding, sailing and running. I have competed up to county level in the track sport, Hurdles and nationally, Showjumping on horseback.
As a competitive sports person I understand the importance of keeping the body free from pain by ensuring muscles are working in the correct balance. This will optimise performance, with the added benefit of reducing the risk of injury. I am also trained in postural and movement assessment, which can help me to identify and treat the origin of the problem as well as prevailing symptoms.
I specialise in identifying and removing trigger points. Commonly referred to as muscle knots, trigger-points are localised areas of muscle contraction. They often result from overload to a muscle through exercise, posture or injury. They can be extremely painful and refer pain into a different part of the body, in some cases trigger points in the neck muscles can cause headaches. Without treatment a trigger point can become worse, the contracted muscle knot can become so tight that it reduces oxygen to the area, overloading the muscle further and continuing the cycle.
Emotional stress has also been linked to the formation of trigger points, with increased muscle tension and stress related posture. As a patient centred therapist, I provide a relaxing massage, catering to the needs of each individual client. I use a wide variety of soft tissue techniques including; effleurage, petrissage, muscle compression, connective tissue massage, skin rolling, tatotement, deep fiction, soft tissue release, miofascial release, muscle energy technique, post isometric relaxation technique. I also provide my clients with techniques they can use at home, to elongate the benefits of the treatment.

Hello, my name is Alizon Murton and I am your Osteopath and Acupuncturist at the Clinic in Brockenhust. My Passion for complimentary therapy came at a time when I was suffering from intense back pain and the only person who was able to help me was an Osteopath. As a result of this life changing treatment I left my job in a news department of the BBC and began my journey in to Osteopathy.
I have now been an Osteopath for over 20 years. As a highly experienced therapist I have helped patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions from head to toe. Treatments commonly include:
ï‚· generalised aches and pains
ï‚· joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core OA treatments and exercise
ï‚· arthritic pain
ï‚· general, acute & chronic backache, back pain (not arising from injury or accident)

ï‚· circulatory problems, cramp
ï‚· digestion problems
ï‚· joint pains
ï‚· lumbago
ï‚· sciatica
ï‚· muscle spasms
ï‚· neuralgia
ï‚· fibromyalgia
ï‚· inability to relax
ï‚· rheumatic pain
ï‚· minor sports injuries and tensions
I keep an open mind in my approach towards treatments and frequently attend talks and workshops to update my learning. I am a trained acupuncturist and Yoga teacher and I have completed a course in counselling.
