Meet the Team: Mike

Mike’s been part of Outright Adventure since 2015, bringing creativity, colour, and just the right amount of chaos (the good kind) to our sessions. He’s got an eye for the arty, a mind full of ideas, and probably more Sharpies than the rest of us combined.

He leads our Pioneers group and runs archery sessions that are equal parts skill-building and friendly competition (yes, he really can land one in the gold while giving instructions mid-shot). Whether it’s encouraging someone to try something new or turning a simple idea into a full-blown activity, Mike’s always ready to help young people aim high—in every sense.

What a jam-packed half term we’ve had this spring — and the best part? The clocks have changed, bringing those lighter evenings we’ve all been waiting for!

We’ve been out hiking, scuba diving, enjoying a day trip to Longleat, and even made a site visit to the stunning Lake District, all alongside our regular weekly sessions.

Now we’re looking ahead to warmer days, longer evenings, and some well-deserved beach adventures. Roll on summer! ☀️

They’re back! 🚙💨 800 miles later, Will & Mike have returned from The Lakes after an epic site visit. Campsite? Checked. Adventure? Guaranteed. Excitement? Through the roof! 🌲🏕️

The Rangers had a fab time last night completing their Discover Scuba Diving session.

Pursuits at Outright Adventure runs Tuesdays, 18:30–20:30 in Lymington, offering teens a chance to get outdoors, try something new, and just enjoy a bit of time away from the usual routine.

No pressure, no awkward icebreakers—just good company, fresh air, and something different to look forward to each week. Spaces to start in the new year.

💔 Outright Adventure Community Interest Company Is Closing Down 💔

Today marks the end of Outright Adventure CIC as we know it. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re so grateful for all the memories and support over the years.

But here’s the twist… this isn’t goodbye! (yes, this was a bit of clickbait – we couldn’t resist! 😉)

We’re reopening tomorrow, 1st December, as Outright Adventure (New Forest) CIC, a CIC limited by guarantee. This change will strengthen our not-for-profit status and open up exciting new opportunities to support our local children and young people.

Thank you for being part of this adventure – the best is yet to come! 🥾

Meet the Team: Will

Will started Outright Adventure back in 2015—whilst most of us were still figuring out how to adult, 17-year-old Will was already laying the foundations for the youth group. Photos of him? Good luck! There are probably more Bigfoot paparazzi shots out there than pictures of Will, though we did manage to find one of him doing something other than paperwork.

He keeps the day-to-day running smoothly and leads the Rangers group, sharing everything from bushcraft skills to his repertoire of truly awful jokes. He’s certainly not one to keep quiet, especially when his competitive streak kicks in—whether it’s a game, a challenge, or just getting everyone motivated!

🌲 Meet Your Local Outdoor Youth Group: Outright Adventure CIC! 🌲
For almost 10 years, we’ve been quietly making a difference in the New Forest, helping young people grow through outdoor activities. Outright Adventure is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit youth group offering weekly sessions filled with bushcraft, team challenges, navigation skills, outdoor cooking, and more. From camping under the stars to kayaking and climbing, we’re all about building confidence, skills, and memories that last a lifetime.

We just wanted to say hi and introduce ourselves - we’re excited to share more of what we do with our local community and welcome anyone who’d like to join the adventure! 🌿✨

🏕️ Last weekend we held our autumn camp and braved storm Ashley camping out in Hammocks!🍃

Safe to say this lot weren’t fazed by the weather and stuck it out! Despite some soggy feet, everyone gave 100% climbing, on the archery range and getting fires going for s’mores!

World Mental Health Day 🧠💚

We didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, but that’s okay because mental health is important every day!

2024 marks 10 years since the catalyst event that led to the creation of Outright Adventure. It’s safe to say it was a tough time for everyone involved.

We’re not here to talk about the benefits of the outdoors today. This post is purely to say: Children, young people, and adults of Outright Adventure— we’re here for you, committed to supporting you through the good and the tough times.

In other news, Will might have got a tattoo to show his commitment and mark the 10-year milestone! Thanks Black Heart Tattoo Studio!
