As you may be aware standing frames are an invaluable piece of equipment for patients' during rehabilitation and physio with numerus benefits. But are you aware of the other benefits that they can have making them very resourceful ?

1) If you are confined to a wheelchair you can suffer from skin issues from soreness to marked skin. So being able to get out of the wheel chair and stand aided and supported in a safe way can help oxygenated blood to flow round the body more easily. This will also give the skin a break from the pressure and confines of the chair helping to reduce soreness and skin to skin contact.

2)Standing can help to improve respiratory function especially in children as it is easier when standing to breathe and speak as it helps to open the diaphragm.

3)Better regulation of blood pressure by helping improve circulation. This can then help to improve heart health and possibly reduce swelling in the legs and feet if used regularly.

4)Helps to prevent skeletal issues. As the patient is able to bear weight on their own with the help of a standing frame their bone density can reduce over time to a healthier level and helping to reduce chance of skeletal disorders.

5)Standing upright also helps your bladder and bowel work effectively just through gravity. This in turn should then help to reduce risks of getting infections and issues such as constipation.

6)Using a standing frame can give patients more freedom and feeling of independence improving their mental health.

7)Standing frames can also help aid people with conditions such as Down's Syndrome, Spina Bifida and other conditions that reduce their ability to aid their weight.
