What is autistic burnout, what causes it, and how can recovery can be supported.
Autistic burnout develops after long periods of masking, sensory overload, or sustained demands without enough recovery time. It's often invisible from the outside, which makes it harder to recognise and harder to ask for help with.
This guide from Mental Health Matters is written for autistic people, families, carers, and employers. Whether you're experiencing burnout yourself or looking to better support someone who is, we hope it's a useful resource.

While not a mental health condition, burnout is closely linked to our mental health and is often related to stress - particularly in the workplace.
It's important to know the signs and symptoms of burnout as well the ways we can reduce and manage it.💜
