Winter is the time when a lot of cold and flu viruses peak. Itโ€™s cold outside, the days are short and weโ€™re spending more time indoors which means weโ€™re more likely to catch and spread winter bugs.

Lots of people with a lung condition find that colds and flu can worsen their lung symptoms.

If you have a lung condition, itโ€™s really important to protect yourself from colds and flu as much as you can. You could become seriously unwell which could put you at risk of an asthma attack or flare-up of your condition.

Worried about your cervical screening appointment? Here are some practical tips to help.

You may need support to attend your cervical screening. When you book, tell your GP surgery or sexual health clinic if you need any reasonable adjustments, such as:
- a longer or double appointment
- information in other languages or formats or an interpreter
- a chaperone in the room with you (another trained member of staff)
- an appointment with a trusted doctor or nurse who you already have a good relationship with

You should:
- book your screening for when youโ€™re not having a period โ€“ this includes the 2 days before or after you bleed
- wait until after any treatment for unusual vaginal discharge or a pelvic infection
- let them know if you are or could be pregnant, as you may need to delay your screening
