Hooley, Watson & Buckley and celebrating our incredible ladies — Margaret, Rebecca, Susie & Chloe.
In a massively male-dominated industry, I feel incredibly proud to stand alongside these women. When women put their minds to something, there is very little we can’t achieve. 👏🏻🙌🏻

The funeral service industry has traditionally been seen as a man’s world, but that is changing. More and more women are stepping into this profession — bringing compassion, strength and dedication to a role that requires all three in equal measure.
Historically, women were always involved in death care. Before the Victorian era, they were responsible for laying out, washing and dressing the deceased. As embalming became more formalised and men attended mortuary schools, the visible role of women in this field shifted.
But women never left the profession — and now we’re seeing them step forward more than ever.
🖤
Today, women aren’t just arranging funerals — they’re directing them, leading them, and supporting families through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
It may not be the first career people think about at school, but it is one of the most meaningful and rewarding paths a person can take. The work is demanding, sometimes physically tough, and emotionally heavy — yet women continue to prove that they belong in every part of this profession.
🖤
Proud to be part of an industry where women are making their mark.
