Whiplash is a common issue people can struggle with for a long time, usually after a car accident π
The old school of thought is we want to immobilise the neck and place it in a brace, in order to allow it to heal. However, recent research has shown that this may actually be detrimental for long term health.
Mobilising the neck relatively quickly after the injury has proven to be really effective for reducing pain and improving neck function π¨βπ
But it's important to remember to listen to your pain! If moving your neck causes pain beyond a tolerable level, then back off a little bit and get in touch with a professional to see what's best for you personally
