On Saturday 18th April 2026, peacefully at home, John aged 86 years.

Beloved and loving Husband of Suzanne, loving Father of Louise, Mark, Jonty, Nicholas, Sarah and Victoria, much loved Father-in-Law to Jon, Brioney, Zoe, Craig and Matt, loving Grandfather of Nathan, Daniel, Emily, Izzy, Jess, Zac, Isla, Immy, Seb and the late Chloe.

John will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

The Funeral Service will take place at 1.30 p.m. on Monday 18th May at St Michael’s Church Wincle followed by private Interment in the Churchyard.

Family flowers only, by request, but donations may be made, if so desired, in favour of
St Michael’s Church, Wincle PCC or the East Cheshire Hospice.

Thank you to the East Cheshire Hospice for all the hard work and dedication that you put into making this year’s Starlight Walk so special and successful. Our team had a lovely evening together. We found it very moving and it was a great team event for us. The setting was beautiful and the refreshments afterwards were excellent. It was astonishing to learn that it costs almost £10,000 every day to run our hospice. Hopefully events like these help to raise awareness within our community and generate funds which are so desperately needed.

On Sunday, 29th March 2026, peacefully at home with his family, David aged 67 years.

Beloved and loving Husband of Karen, loving Father of Jennifer, Laura, Suzanne, William, Henry and Zach, loving Father-in-Law to Tom, David, Suzy and Kim, devoted Grandfather of Edmund, Jude, Ava, Lexi, River and Bonnie and a much loved Brother of Val, Judy and Chris.

David will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

The Funeral Service will take place at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 28th April at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Hurdsfield followed by private Interment which will take place at 2.30 p.m. in Macclesfield Cemetery.

Grief doesn’t follow a set path, and everyone experiences it differently.

In the final video of our Direct Cremation series, a daughter reflects on how the absence of a funeral affected her grieving process. Without that moment to say goodbye, she describes feeling as though her grief had been “boxed up” rather than properly acknowledged.
