I have a very bespoke position to fill within our day service for adults with learning disabilities. We are looking for someone with a good knowledge of wood work to help guide our small but enthusiastic woodwork group. We only run the woodwork one day per week and projects are not complex. Projects enjoyed have been bird tables, upcycling, key holders etc
The role may suit a retired craftsman looking to fill a day with fun! There are other hours and roles available but woodwork is 9:30-4 Thursdays.
We may also be looking for someone with allotment knowledge.

A few days late in posting but what a 30th birthday Louie had, massive thanks to garden room for the fantastic inflatable club, cake house for the brilliant cake and for sorting out the very entertaining fire breather!!!! Enjoy the photos

It is with absolute heartbreaking sadness that I write this post.

Our next step family will never be quite the same as we had to say goodbye to our much loved team member Daryl Yapp, who lost his courageous and incredibly short battle with cancer this weekend.

Daryl joined our team in 2020 and became an integral part from that moment.
Not only loved as a support worker but also as day centre lead, throwing himself into woodwork, crafts and enterprise.

We have so many stories to share, so many fabulous memories…our team and the whole gang are so very sad but promise to take care and support Daryl’s daughter Megan who is also a member of the next step team.
When Megan first started her role here Daryl said to me “I’m giving you my greatest gift” such a proud proud Dad and all round amazing support worker

Rest in peace Daryl you will be so unbelievably sadly missed but remembered by us all.
Thank you for everything you gave to Next step.
Until we meet again our friend 🩶
