As a Play and Creative Arts therapist, the Sand-tray and symbols have always been a significant part of my work. I can’t explain the power of the sand and the use of metaphors in being able to express thoughts, emotions or situation in the sand whilst being emotionally held by a therapist and the space. 💖

My love of sand took me on a journey and lead me to becoming a Sandstory therapist.
Sandstory sessions are now part of my offering and I love seeing the benefits it offers.

For many children, the return to school brings big feelings—wobbles, worries, and overwhelm. Whether it’s separation anxiety, sensory overload, or just the weight of new routines, it can feel like a lot.

Another amazing project that ended this week.

For the last 4 months, I have had the pleasure of being part of an amazing learning journey at Ysgol Gymunedol Tal-y-bont .

As a creative agent for program I was involved early on in the planning, recruiting and setting up the project.

Due to the excellent co-working of these amazing creative practitioners (Thea and ) and class teacher (Miss Morris) I have had a pretty easy role in overseeing the journey and it’s just the evaluation to be done none!

The learning journey has been exciting from the outset! When you have a novel writer who specialises in detective stories and a marine biologist who can turn her hand to anything all you need is a invested teacher who is up for bringing all types of creativity into the learning space! And we certainly got that! To have a teacher that is so invested in the process is such a bonus! Wish every school had one of these!

This brings to an end the 2 year programme with the school.
💖It has been a lovely school to work with and I have no doubt that the ethos of the learning journeys will be used, developed and embedded in the learning by the teachers, the staff and the school.

Diolch am brosiect anhygoel arall sydd hefyd wedi dod i ben yr wythnos hon.

Am y 4 mis diwethaf, rwyf wedi cael y pleser o fod yn rhan o daith ddysgu anhygoel yn Ysgol Gymunedol Tal-y-bont .

Fel asiant greadigol i roeddwn yn rhan o’r broses gynnar o gynllunio, recriwtio a sefydlu’r prosiect.

💫Y peth hudolus yw cael 2 ymarferydd creadigol (Thea de Klein a ) rhagorol ac athro dosbarth (Miss Morris) mwy na brwdfrydig sydd wedi byw ac anadlu y taith ddysgu ‘Pysgod Talybont’.

Mae ymroddiad, brwdfrydedd a pharodrwydd yr ymarferwyr creadigol a’r athro i feddwl tu allan i’r bocs wedi caniatáu i’r plant ddatblygu sgiliau newydd, herio eu hunain a dod o hyd i lawenydd mewn dysgu. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Mae hyn yn dod â fy 2 flynedd o weithio yn yr ysgol i ben o dan ysgolion arweinol greadigol y Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru.

💖Mae wedi bod yn bleser ac nid oes gennyf unrhyw amheuaeth y bydd y sgiliau a’r manteision a welir drwy’r prosiectau hyn yn cael eu defnyddio a’u datblygu gan yr athrawon, y staff a’r ysgol gyfan.

🌈A dyna ni!🌈

Am y 6 wythnos diwethaf, mae Elin a minnau wedi bod yn gweithio gyda grŵp hyfryd o rieni a babanod yn y prosiect stARTing well, menter iechyd meddwl a chreadigrwydd perinatal.

Rydym wedi argraffu, peintio 🎨,, braslunio, ffeltio, gwneud cerrig mandala, dalwyr breuddwydion a ‘mobiles’! Ac wrth gwrs, chwarae, archwilio, symud a chanu!🎼

Yn teimlo mor ddiolchgar am y cyfle hwn a chael gweithio unwaith eto gyda rhieni newydd 💖

🌈A dyna ni!🌈And that’s a wrap!🌈

For the last 6weeks Elin and I have been working with a lovely group of parents and babies in the stARTing well project, Hywel Dda Health Board a perinatal mental health and creativity initiative.

We have printed, painted 🎨,marbled, sketched , felted, made mandala stones, dream catchers and mobiles! And of course Played, explored, moved and sung our hearts out!🎼

Feeling so grateful for this opportunity and being able to once again work with new parents 💖 and have the amazing support from a Specialist Perinatal Occupational Therapist and peer mentor of the service join us.
