Silence In Sound is a performance-based resource for Sound Healing Practitioners, Therapists and Musicians:
we offer practical 1-2-1 and group workshops tailored to the clients needs. Our sound studio, The Singing Bowl Centre is based in Machynlleth, on the Southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park in Wales, UK. Craig & Jacquie Shankster (founders) have studied Sound Therapy and Vibrational Healing in Nepal, USA and UK; Craig has specialised in antique Himalayan 'Singing' Bowls since 1982. Silence in Sound hand-selects practitioner quality Himalayan 'Singing' Bowls and is the original and exclusive UK importer of The Original Singing Gongs; additionally we source genuine tribal and Shamanic sound and ritual instruments during our annual visits to the Himalayas. Silence in Sound is independent of any religious organisation and we respect all belief systems.

Creative Sound is our "thing”, and Himalayan Singing Bowls and Gongs are our speciality.

In our workshops we ‘park’ the words "healing" and "therapy" and focus primarily on the practical exploration of the player and how to get the best and broadest soundscape from your existing kit. We believe that only when you truly understand your instruments (and yourself) can you apply them for a specific purpose.

Check out our Creative Sound workshops; we have been involved with Singing Bowls since the early 80s.

Here at Silence In Sound we have been delving deeply into the mysterious world of Himalayan Singing Bowls since the early 80s; our creative sound workshops blow the normal conventions of Singing Bowl-sound out of the water.

Today we continue to explore and create new sound textures that not only stir the soul but stimulate the mind.

Our workshops are limited to maximum four people, we believe in quality over quantity.
