What a start to Care Home Open Week!

Motivation Monday and Multicutural Monday!

Our Monday started with a French Breakfast - croissants with fresh fruit and jam! A visit from the RCN, balloon volleyball, followed by curry, naan bread, rice, samosa, mango chutney. There was even a selection of pasta dishes served in cute bowls and authentic cheesy pizza!!

Our lovely Amanda taught traditional African Dancing with our residents and fabulous team joining in! Who's up for a dance class?

VE Day Celebrations in full swing today!!

We welcomed the lovely singer Tony from Musicare, who sang all different songs which vary from the 40s to the 60s.

The residents thoroughly enjoyed it. We then enjoyed a fabulous buffet which the kitchen prepared for us.

Happy Easter to everyone!!!

How many photos can you spot with the Easter bunny? Our Bryn Celyn Easter bunny delivered Easter Eggs to our residents and team as everyone needs an egg!!!

When the "hostess with the mostess" has a tray of warm scones...but we had to have a mixture of jam first and cream first as we wanted all the mums and grandmothers to be happy while celebrating Mother's Day at Bryn Celyn Care Home today! 🍰🧁🍮

The fragrance of fresh flowers filed the home while our residents enjoyed flower arranging before a beautiful afternoon tea or a tipple from the drinks trolley 🥂🎁🍹🍷

Who misses the smell of a freshly printed newspaper, the waft through the air as you turn the pages and the sound as the page settles?

With most newspapers now online, our residents still enjoy a physical newspaper, magazine and crossword book. This makes for great conversations and debates during coffee mornings

St Patrick's Day has been in full swing today at Bryn Celyn!

We started with a quiz, fact of the day: Paddy was believed to be born in a place called Bannavem Taburniae which could be Banwen in Port Talbot!

As usual, our fantastic kitchen team made scrumptious Guinness Pies and most importantly we had some Guinness tasting sessions...the question is do you like Guinness? Have you had a Guinness today?

Memories of Valentines Day last month where we had the Mother's Union visit and run a quiz centred around Valentine's Day. No get together is complete without a sing-along, this time we had love songs and a Pam Ayres poem recited by one of our residents.

Our wonderful hospitality team created a beautiful spread for our day of love High Tea!

The craze of frozen yoghurt has made it's way to Maesteg!
Last month we had National Frozen Yoghurt Day where the residents added flavours to yoghurt to make frozen yoghurt. Flavours tried were: toffee, raspberry and yoghurt.
