Words to a wiser self, not to teach you but to guide you ...

🌿 So, my dear… when you grow old, remember this.
Words from a wiser self, not to teach you, but to guide you gently.
1️⃣ Never preach.
Even if you know you’re right.
Remember how it used to irritate you?
Did you ever follow every piece of advice from your elders?
2️⃣ Don’t offer help unless it’s asked for.
Love without imposing.
Protect without controlling.
Let your presence be a comfort, not a burden.
3️⃣ Never complain.
Don’t become the grumpy elder on the bench criticizing the world.
Your peace is your power.
4️⃣ Don’t expect gratitude from your children.
There are no ungrateful children—only unrealistic expectations from parents.
You raised them to fly, not to owe.
5️⃣ Avoid saying things like “In my day…” or “I gave you the best years of my life…”
It builds walls, not bridges.
6️⃣ If you become a grandmother, embrace the title.
It’s a crown, not a curse.
Let them call you “grandma” with pride.
7️⃣ Don’t waste your savings on desperate anti-aging fixes.
Spend it on a trip.
On joy.
On memories.
8️⃣ Don’t hide from the mirror.
Look with honesty.
Strive for elegance—not youth.
Grace ages better than any serum.
9️⃣ Treasure your husband, even if he’s now frail or grumpy.
He once made you laugh.
He once held your hand with fire in his eyes.
And he may be the only one who remembers you as you were.
🔟 Stop chasing time.
You don’t have to master every new gadget, app, or trend.
Do what makes your heart sing.
Even if it’s just baking the same cake every Sunday.
1️⃣1️⃣ Never blame yourself.
You did your best.
For your life.
For your children.
For love.
1️⃣2️⃣ Carry your dignity.
To the end.
It’s your most radiant accessory.
And above all—
If you’re still here, breathing, loving, remembering…
It means you’re still needed. 🌹
