Monday motivation

Unlike a bubble bath where you’re submerged up to your chest, a sitz bath involves sitting in a pool of water with only your hips and bottom submerged

🚿Fill a CLEANED (no bacteria please) sitz bath basin or bathtub with 2 to 3 inches of warm (not hot) water
💮Add the likes of Epsom salts, witch hazel, calendula, rose, lavender oil and oats - calendula can also be taken orally
🛁Soak once a day for up to 20 minutes
💦Gently pat the area dry with a CLEAN towel or flannel (do NOT use a hairdryer on the cool setting for risk of dust or other particles being blown onto the area)
👗Wear loose, comfortable clothing as not to irritate the area further

Don't look at your 'due' date (I'm sorry to tell you but only 4% of babies are born on their 'due' date)

Instead, look at it as your due month, and do everything you can to wrap yourself in an oxytocin bubble!🥰

'Continuity of Care' allows you to get to know the health professionals, to feel comfortable with them, and they get to know what your wishes are for labour and beyond🗣

However, do you see the same midwife at ALL of your antenatal appointments?
And, if you have chosen a hospital birth, did you know you won't meet your midwife until you walk into the labour room?

BUT, if you choose to hire doula support then you'll have me AND your birth partner with you throughout your pregnancy! Two people who you know, two people you are certain will have your needs, views, and feelings at the heart of your your care and support!👌
