For those who don’t know me, I’m Sam.

🧠 Founder of MindMap.
🚑 Former Occupational Health Clinician
📚 BSc Health & Wellbeing.

In a world where looking after our mental health is so important, I’ve always wondered why nobody is taught how to do so.

‘Be grateful’
‘Go for a walk’
‘Be positive’

For years, I performed medicals to assess both physical and mental health within businesses and I have seen the impact the current mental health advice offers in prevention.

Very little.

These frustrations and struggles boiled down the same question on repeat in my clinics.

‘Why am I like this?’

I have build MindMap to empower and educate men and women on the inner workings of their mind. Why we feel how we feel, think what we think and act how we act.

The purpose? To build resilience and strength for people to take a preventative approach to their mental wellbeing.

🍎 We eat well to boost our immune system
🏋️‍♀️ We exercise to build strength
🔋 We sleep to recharge the batteries

So, what are we doing to strengthen our mental health?

There are so many services for people once they struggle, MindMap aims to build robust mental fitness to help navigate the inevitable challenges of life.

We don’t need more lifeguards, we need to learn how to swim.

Remember, health is the hand you are dealt. Fitness is the hand you play.

Your mind is no different.

‘What men want is not talent, it’s purpose’

Always eager to connect with others actively engaging in men’s mental health in Northern Ireland and delighted to be involved in this great project.

Cheers to Orin Calder for my place in the 100th walk. A brilliant project that’s grown from strength to strength.

A group of good lads having a lot of laughs while enjoying the rarity of the Belfast sun.

For anyone in the local area looking a great group and some exercise, get involved! Wednesdays 6:30pm!
