Recently, a client casually dropped into the conversation theyโ€™d stayed late at work.

It wasnโ€™t really about the work. It was about the fear: ๐˜๐˜ง ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜ข ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ, ๐˜ช๐˜ตโ€™๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ.

On paper, they probably looked dependable (Iโ€™m assuming so, I donโ€™t work with them so I wouldnโ€™t actually know).

What I did know, however, was that in reality, ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜, sat at a laptop while their kids grew up without them.

Hereโ€™s the hidden truth about high-functioning anxiety: it doesnโ€™t always look like panic.
