Mental Health First Aid training

4 Minutes is pleased to announce it has taken on a new full-time Trainer, Chris.

Chris comes from a Met Police background where he delivered a lot of their general training and is a welcome addition to the team. He will be acting as First Aid Trainer, Trainer Manager for our Freelancers and Business Development Manager. In at the deep end.

As well as Teaching our range of First Aid courses, Chris will be the lead Trainer for our range of Mental Health First Aid courses (MHFA), with the first public one running in Bray in October.

This time of the year sees 4 Minutes especially busy with Outdoor courses as Outdoor leaders get everything sorted before the busy season, DofE Organisers & Schools get their leaders (re)qualified and Forest School leaders skill up.

Andy from was down on the Jurassic Coast at the beginning of the month running a 16 hour Outdoor Course for staff.

Everyone had a great time, Andy was well looked after and, more importantly, everyone passed with flying colours. Here are just a few of the images taken of the course:

Last course of Year was for the Sixth formers at Desborough College here in Maidenhead. 20+ pupils were put through their paces and here is what they had to say:

"Hi Andy,

Thank you so much for the fantastic first aid workshops you delivered to our Sixth Former's on Tuesday. They all found it informative and engaging and have learnt some vital skills to take with them to university next year. In particular they liked the digital resuscitation dolls who could 'mark' their CPR abilities - adding a level of competition to the session to see who could perfect their technique the most."

Local TV presenter recalls 'shaking' after giving man CPR

BBC South Today's Alexis Green is the lead presenter for the south region, covering Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. But on Saturday 3rd August she was called upon to use the first aid training she had recently completed at work.

Ms Green was attending a sporting event with her family when she answered "frantic" calls for a doctor or first aider. "I had only done my first aid training with work in the last six months, but I was a lifeguard when I was a kid," Ms Green said...
Ms Green said she was later contacted by the event organisers, who told her the man was "sitting up in bed and OK - he would be held in hospital for a few more days".

First Aid is definitely a 'Martini' need. Any time, any place, anywhere. Yes, I am that old.
