We were delighted to welcome the community to our Later Life Information Hub at Invicta Court yesterday. It was a fantastic day filled with insightful presentations, practical advice, and meaningful conversations.

A huge thank you to all the local organisations and professionals who shared their expertise on everything from care funding and legal planning to community and residential care options. Your support made this event such a valuable resource for our community.

It was wonderful to see so many families and individuals leave with greater confidence and clarity about planning for later life. 🌟

Residents Giving Back to the Community

At Invicta Court, we’ve been quietly working on a very special community project. One local lady needed some help restoring her garden, so our current “fixer-uppers” project is focused on bringing her outdoor space back to life.

Drawing on the skills of our residents and colleagues, we’ve come together to begin transforming her garden into a welcoming haven she can enjoy once again.

Work is already well underway. Brian and his team have been busy clearing the overgrown space, while Paul, our Sustainability Champion, has been leading the charge on repurposing old pallet wood into beautiful planters. Alongside these, we have salvaged pots from the garden, which residents are eager to begin planting with fresh flowers and greenery.

Today marked a big milestone: Brian and Paul installed a brand-new fence, kindly donated by Boxley Timber, who generously provided fence panels, posts, and postcrete. A huge thank you to them for their support — we are now one step closer to creating a true sanctuary for this lady.

With the continued help of our residents, colleagues, the wider community, and hopefully even some eager young hands from the local school, this project is shaping up wonderfully.

We are still looking for donations of materials such as pea shingle, plants, and the expertise of a tree surgeon — so if you’re able to contribute, we’d love your support for this worthy cause.

Who says a wish can only come true once? 🌠

Pats love for horses has been with her, her whole life. Her passion even led to a career owning stables. 🐎
In September 2024 Kingston and Murphy two horses from her stables came to visit Pat, greeting her at the door. This year was no different. Pat again was greeted by Kingston and Murphy. This time with both horses as Pat said "being a little more cheeky".
This visit brought back very many happy memories for her, giving her the same smile that her passion for horses has given her for all these years. 🐴

Pat said after the occasion, " I loved being able to spend time with Kingston and Murphy today, even if they were a bit cheeky."

Today we proudly celebrate three amazing members of our care home family — Brian, Emma, and Deborah — who in August reached an incredible milestone of 5 years of dedication. 💙
Their compassion, commitment, and care have made such a difference to our residents, their families, and all of us who work alongside them. We are so lucky to have them on our team, and we thank them for the love and warmth they bring every single day. 🌟

During the last week of August, we enjoyed a couple of wonderful seaside trips. Some residents visited Leysdown while others headed to Herne Bay. Both outings were a great success, with some enjoying delicious fish and chips while some enjoyed a traditional 99 ice cream.
