Morning Moves with G-Fitness at Invicta Court 💪✨

Yesterday morning residents enjoyed a fantastic seated exercise session with John from G-Fitness, bringing energy, laughter and movement to the start of the day!

Seated exercise is a wonderful way for residents to stay active while exercising safely and comfortably. These sessions help improve mobility, strength, circulation and coordination, while also supporting balance and overall wellbeing. Just as importantly, they’re great fun and a brilliant opportunity to socialise and share a few smiles together.

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, moving to the rhythm and encouraging one another. A big thank you to John for leading such an engaging and uplifting session – we’re already looking forward to the next one!

What an inspiring day at the Armed Forces Network “Together We Can Make a Difference” Conference in Brighton today.

It was fantastic to spend time networking with so many individuals and organisations who are passionate about supporting the Armed Forces community. Events like this really highlight the power of collaboration – sharing ideas, learning from one another, and strengthening the support available for veterans and their families.

The day became even more special when my colleague Amelia Moore from Weald Heights Care Home and I were honoured to receive the Care Homes Team Award as part of the Service Champion Awards.

Our nomination recognised the work we have been doing within our roles to support veterans – from identifying and recognising veterans living within Invicta Court and Weald Heights, to organising cafés and breakfast clubs that welcome veterans from the wider community. We have also been proud to host visits from organisations such as The Chelsea Pensioners Veterans Outreach team and other specialists who help raise awareness of the support available to veterans and their families.

Being part of the Service Champions programme is incredibly important to us, and we are passionate about ensuring veterans feel recognised, respected and supported. To receive this award was truly humbling.

A huge thank you to the Armed Forces Network for organising such a meaningful event and for continuing to champion the veteran community.

Together we really can make a difference.

🤝💬 Stronger Together: Thank You for Joining Our Relatives Support Group 🤝💬

A heartfelt thank you to all the relatives who joined us for our second Relatives Support Group last Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many of you there, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to attend. 💙

The session was a great success, providing a supportive space for families to connect, share experiences, and offer encouragement to one another. Strengthening relationships within the Invicta community and ensuring our families feel supported is incredibly important to us. 🌿

Following such positive feedback, we will continue to hold these meetings every three months and look forward to welcoming even more of you at future sessions. 📅

🌼 Spring Sunshine & Garden Moments 🌼

We made the most of the beautiful sunshine this week with a wonderful morning spent outdoors, enjoying the first signs of spring in the garden. ☀️🌿

Gardener, Paul, and resident Bud were hard at work together building bird boxes and hanging bird feeders in one of the trees, creating a welcoming space for our feathered visitors. It was lovely to see their teamwork in action and the garden coming to life.

Margaret and her daughter, Julie, took the opportunity to enjoy a gentle walk and a catch-up in the fresh air, while Pat found a peaceful spot to relax with some knitting. Nearby, Bill, Jessie and Joyce enjoyed a chat in the sunshine, happily watching Paul and Bud hard at work.

It was a lovely morning filled with fresh air, conversation, and the simple joys that spring brings. 🌸🐦

✨🎵 Music – Food for the Soul 🎵✨

Earlier this week, the cafe was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of dancing as Martin joined us with his keyboard to entertain the residents. 🎹

With the wonderful Elaine from our Hospitality Team leading the way, it wasn’t long before residents were up on their feet, clapping, singing along, and showing off their dance moves – something Elaine always manages to make happen!

Music truly is food for the soul, and the smiles across the room said it all. Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be in bringing people together, lifting spirits, and creating joyful memories.

A fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all! 💃🕺

👶Baby Isla popped back into Invicta Court to visit yesterday, as she wanted to meet more residents. 💛

She absolutely loved all the cuddles, smiles and attention everyone gave her, and it was so special to see the joy she brought to residents. Moments like these truly brighten the day for both residents and staff.

We think it’s safe to say Isla has become a very special little friend to us all already! 🥰

🐾 A Very Special Visitor at Invicta Court 🐾

We were delighted to welcome Amber the PAT dog back to Invicta Court yesterday, and what a wonderful visit it was! Amber spent time with residents offering plenty of cuddles, companionship and smiles all around.

Visits like these are incredibly special – animal companionship can bring comfort, spark conversations, and create lovely moments of connection for everyone involved. Amber certainly brightened our day and quickly became a firm favourite with both residents and team members alike.

A big thank you to Amber and Louise for spending time with us. We’re already looking forward to the next visit! 🐶💛
