Over a week now since the Chester marathon, so the dust has settled!
Super happy with my time, 3hr17 but lots to learn and to take into account for the next one. One of my most successful training periods, as I got through without injury and felt great on race day.
Another step forward in Project Sub 3 Hours!
Purely heart rate based training was interesting, as it’s something I’ve never done before. I found that training in the summer through the hotter and more humid weather, meant I hadn’t run at the pace I wanted to do the marathon at, often enough.
Big shout to my patient, friend and training partner who ran 3hr16 in his first ever marathon race. Seems like he wasted those years being a boxer instead 👀
