Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

At Barty House we place great emphasis on rehabilitation and improving mobility. We are able to offer private physiotherapy treatment in your own room. After an initial assessment, a program of therapy will be designed to maximise your potential. You will be charged independently of the Nursing Home, and the fee structure will be discussed with you prior to commencement of treatment. Palliative Care

Our residents had a wonderful morning testing some delicious milkshakes today.

We whipped up refreshing banana and classic strawberry flavour’s, and it’s safe to say they were a huge hit🥤😋

Smiles all around as everyone picked their favorite flavour.

🇹🇷 A Sweet Escape to Turkey at Barty House 🇹🇷

We had such a wonderful time today immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture of Turkey.

From sharing stories about the country’s history to letting the beautiful sounds of Turkish music set the mood, it was a truly special afternoon.

The highlight? Our Turkish Delight tasting🍬

We explored a variety of culinary treats that brought a real taste of the Mediterranean right here to us.

It was an afternoon of culture,music and delicious flavours. Thank you to everyone who joined in.

🐾 We had a very special little visitor at Barty House this morning.

🐹Oreo the guinea pig popped in with her young owner to see her great-nan and brought so many smiles to our residents (and staff) faces💖

Did you know - Guinea pigs are particularly good for pet therapy as they are generally gentle, calm, and small enough to be held comfortably, offering comfort to those who may miss having pets.

Thank you for the lovely surprise visit and cuddles 🐾

🐝 Un-bee-lievable Visitors at Barty House 🐝

We have some very busy guests resting in our gardens today. A honeybee swarm has decided to take a break on one of our trees. 🌳

Did you know? They're just resting:

Swarming is how bees find a new home when their old one gets too crowded.

This "bivouac" on our tree is just a temporary pit stop while scout bees search for a permanent spot.

They're on their best behaviour: Believe it or not, bees are actually at their most docile when swarming.

They have no hive or honey to protect, so they’re usually very calm and just focused on keeping their queen safe.

Nature in action: We love seeing our gardens support local biodiversity.
It’s been wonderful to watch these incredible pollinators from a safe distance.

We contacted a local beekeeper to help them move along safely to a new hive and we have been letting them enjoy their "staycation" at Barty House 🏠

Just as the beekeeper was due to arrive, our beautiful Barty bees had already moved on to pastures new🐝🐝🐝

🌱 Bringing the Garden Indoors🌿

Our residents had a wonderful time this afternoon getting their hands a little dirty.

We planted our own indoor herb and spices from aromatic rosemary, savoury thyme, flavourful tarragon, and a kick of chillies 🌶️

There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh herbs to brighten up the day. We can’t wait to watch them grow and use them in our cooking.

Crunch, munch, and a whole lot of guessing🕵️‍♂️🥔

Today, our residents put their taste buds to the ultimate test with a "Guess the Flavour" crisp challenge.

We sampled 8 unique (and sometimes very surprising) flavours to see who had the most refined palate.

There were lots of laughs, a few "what on earth is that?!" faces, and some very impressive snacking skills. It turns out identifying a crisp without seeing the bag is harder than you’d think.

A huge well done to everyone who took part—it was a truly "tasty" afternoon😋✨

We had a fantastic time celebrating today.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the sun-filled conservatory, followed by a quiz that got everyone’s brains ticking. 🥘🧠

It was the perfect way to mark the day together. A wonderful afternoon thank you to our Kitchen and Activites team✨
