Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

At Barty House we place great emphasis on rehabilitation and improving mobility. We are able to offer private physiotherapy treatment in your own room. After an initial assessment, a program of therapy will be designed to maximise your potential. You will be charged independently of the Nursing Home, and the fee structure will be discussed with you prior to commencement of treatment. Palliative Care

💪 Feel Good Friday at Barty 🏋️‍♂️

Our residents brought the energy today. We had a blast getting our hearts pumping and bodies moving with a fun armchair exercise session led by Get Fitness.

From stretches to strength, there were smiles all around.

This creative activity is designed to:
🧠 Boost Brain Power: Strengthen memory and cognitive skills.

🤝 Build Connection: Foster friendships and reduce loneliness.

✨Each week, Tim will focus on a variety of different art styles. We can’t wait to see more of our residents enjoy this shared experience.✨

There’s nothing quite like the unconditional love of a pet to brighten the day🐕

Our residents absolutely love their regular visits from their furry friends, bringing smiles, comfort, and plenty of cuddles. It’s truly heartwarming to see the joy they bring❤️

Did someone say chocolate? 🍫😋

Our wonderful activities team had a great day hosting 'Barty Chocolate Day' today. Our residents tasted their way through a world of treats, from velvety chocolate cakes made by our fantastic chefs to a variety of chocolate.

Two of the champions of the taste test were Dark Mint and a milk/ white combination 🏆🌿

Dips, drinks, and Dennis 🎸

We had a fantastic morning sampling some tasty new dips from our amazing kitchen crew.
It was a tough job, but someone had to do it 😉

To top it all off, we spent the afternoon singing our hearts out with the brilliant Dennis Connolly. A huge thank you to Dennis for bringing so much energy and joy to our home today. 🌟

Meet the smallest staff member at Barty House 🐦

Thanks to a gift from one of our late residents' families, our new pet budgie Pip has officially brought sunshine and cheerful chirps to our home. Already, our feathered friend is loved by everyone, providing, comforting, and constant companionship for our residents and staff alike. 💛

Higher or Lower? 🤔📺

It was all fun and games in the lounge today as our residents at Barty House took on the classic TV game show, "Play Your Cards Right"🃏

There was plenty of tension, laughter and concentration as everyone tried to guess the next card.

A huge well done to Jean for winning the most games ( shown with her medal) 🏅

What a wonderful afternoon we had at Barty House 🎶✨

We were thrilled to welcome the fantastic ‘Rob T’ who truly brought the house down.

Our residents were treated to a variety of classic hits, but the real highlight was his rendition of "Is This the Way to Amarillo". 🤠🎤
Before we knew it, everyone was waving their hands, and even doing a bit of "chair dancing"⚡

Music and Live performances like these are vital for boosting wellbeing and sparking happy memories.

A huge thank you to Rob T for making today so special! 🌟

There is nothing quite like the energy in the room during our Movement to Music kiddley Divey class. Our residents truly give it their all, and it is a joy to watch.

From the first song to the final stretch, these sessions are about so much more than just physical activity. We’re moving, grooving, and having a blast staying active💃🕺

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: CELEBRATING 22 YEARS OF BRENDA🌟

Today, we are sharing the wonderful story of a very special member of our Barty House family—Brenda❤️

Brenda’s journey in care began long before she joined us. After an incredible 30 years as a Rehabilitation care worker in London, she took early retirement at 58. However, her passion for helping others didn't stop there! ✨

After some volunteer work a few years later, she moved to Kent. Brenda spotted an advert for a role here at Barty House. She joined us as a carer for two years before bringing her vibrant energy to our Activities Team, where she has been the life and soul of our community for nearly 22 years.

Brenda truly embodies the heart of our home. In her own words:

"I love my job, it’s the best job in the world. I love to put a smile on people's faces, I like to tell silly jokes, sing songs and brighten their day”

Thank you, Brenda, for over two decades of laughter, dedication, and for making Barty House Nursing Home such a bright and happy place for our residents and staff alike. 🥂💐
