All of us at Penny Brohn UK were saddened to hear the statement from HRH The Princess of Wales, informing the public that she is having preventative chemotherapy treatment following a discovery of cancer after surgery earlier this year.
As in February when HM The King announced his own cancer diagnosis, we know that this news will have been hard for those with a personal connection to cancer to hear.
HRH The Princess of Wales spoke about the "huge shock" she has experienced, and the time she has taken to process this news. This is very common and we know how hard it can be to adjust to life after a diagnosis. We are thinking of Her Royal Highness at this time, and sending our best wishes to her and everyone currently living with cancer.
We were particularly pleased to hear Her Royal Highness speak of the ways she is prioritising healing in her "mind, body and spirits". At Penny Brohn UK, we are proud to promote a whole-person approach to cancer care, and our services support all aspects of a person's life, not just their physical health. As HM The King is doing, we know that HRH The Princess of Wales will be following a holistic approach to her care.
