Living Through Menopause — Made Simple🌿

Menopause can bring changes to sleep, mood, weight, energy, temperature, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
It can feel frustrating, especially when your body suddenly seems to respond differently.

The good news is that simple, supportive habits can help.

Simple Start:
Prioritise protein with each meal.
Why? It helps support blood sugar balance, muscle maintenance, energy, and can help reduce dips and crashes.

Straightforward Support:
Hydrate well and consider minerals too.
Why? Hormonal shifts can affect headaches, body temperature, dryness, and energy. Hydration works better when your body can actually use the fluids well.

Everyday Help:
Get morning daylight and gentle movement.
Why? This can support your sleep-wake rhythm, nervous system, mood, and stress levels.

Quick Win:
Watch excess caffeine and sugar.
Why? For many women, these can make hot flushes, poor sleep, irritability, anxious feelings, and energy crashes worse.

Gentle Reminder:
Rest is not laziness.
Why? Your body is adjusting through a major transition and wise support matters.

Menopause is not the end of you flourishing.
It is a season that may need a different kind of support. 🤍

Have you noticed any changes in your sleep, mood, or energy lately?

Fortnightly Check-In 🌿

Life has been quite hectic again, and I’ve been journeying through grief, which is why I’ve been a little quiet.

This has been an introspective season, and along the way, mental health self-care, emotional first aid, and prayer have been so important for me. 🙏🏾

They have truly helped me keep going, continue functioning, and still support you, my community.

What stood out to you from my last couple of posts?

✨ Mental Health Self-Care — Made Simple
✨ Emotional First Aid

Have these reminders helped you too? React with a 👍 or 👎

I’m also very excited about my next upcoming blog:
Autism, Grief and Ambiguity 🤍

Thank you for being here with me on this journey.

Mental Health Self-Care — Made Simple🧠✨ Inspired by Emotional First Aid (Guy Winch)

Why “Emotional First Aid”?
Because emotional pain is real — and when we treat it early (like a cut), it’s less likely to “spread” into overthinking, withdrawal, or harsh self-talk.

Simple Start (60 secs): Name it. What’s the “emotional injury” right now: rejection, rumination (overthinking), guilt, loneliness, failure, low self-esteem?

Do ONE tool today:

- Rejection: speak kindly to yourself + do 1 nurturing thing.

- Overthinking: say “I’m ruminating” → 2-minute reset (walk, wash up, stretch, pray).

- Failure: write 1 lesson + 1 next step.

- Guilt: repair (apologise / make it right) then release the loop.

- Loneliness: send 1 message: “Thinking of you—how are you really?”

- Low self-esteem: list 5 true strengths/evidence of growth.

Check-in: Which one do you need most today? 💬

Disclaimer: This is general self-care info, not medical/mental health advice. If you feel unsafe or in crisis, seek urgent help (UK: Samaritans 116 123, NHS 111, emergency 999).

Hey lovely people — how did you get on these past two weeks? 💛

I’ve had a challenging couple of weeks, which is why I’ve been a little quiet… but I’m still here, and I’m grateful for you.

Also… I haven’t forgotten the SAD lamp unboxing 🙈 Truthfully, it’s already been unofficially unboxed — and it’s helped me so much over the last two weeks!

Now tell me… how did you get on with hydration? 💧

Vote in the poll / comment below with where you landed:

✅ “I smashed it”
🙈 “On and off”
❌ “I forgot”
🧠 “I need a simple plan”

I’m genuinely excited about the coming weeks — we’re moving into mental health + self-care (simple, realistic, supportive).

Drop a 💧 if you’re still on the hydration journey with me.

Hydration made simple 💧🍋🧂

Why this matters:
Hydration isn’t just water — your body also needs minerals to absorb and use it well.

Why lemon? 🍋
Improves taste (so you drink more) + can gently support digestion.

Why Celtic/Himalayan salt? 🧂
Adds electrolytes/trace minerals that help your body hold onto and use water.

Why water is important:
Supports energy, focus, digestion, circulation, temperature balance, kidneys, and skin comfort.

Daily aim:
Work towards your optimal water intake for your body weight each day (not just “8 glasses”).

Simple Start (today):
Add lemon OR a pinch of Celtic/Himalayan salt to one glass of water each day and notice how you feel.

Intervention:
If headaches/fatigue keep showing up, book a screening so we can personalise support.

Give me a👍 if you decide to commit to this habit change this week ☺️.

How did you get on this week? 💛

Apologies for the late post — it’s been a busy weekend! We had a church conference and it was so uplifting… truly renewing and refreshing. 🙌✨

This week’s focus on smart eating was actually really enjoyable for me.

✅ I did some batch cooking (now frozen — future me is grateful 😄)

✅ And I kept up a household salad a day 🥗

☺️ ✨ Exciting news: I finally ordered my SAD lamp and it arrived last week — look out for an unboxing video soon! ☺️

Now over to you… How did you get on this week?

Pick one (or share yours in the comments): 1️⃣ I stayed consistent most days
2️⃣ I started… and I’m proud of that
3️⃣ I fell off, but I’m resetting
4️⃣ I need something simpler next week

Drop a ✅ with what went well (even if it’s small). Small wins count!

How did you get on this week? 💛

Did you feel lighter this week by being more conscious of your thoughts… and releasing any negative moods through forgiveness?

It surely helps me.
When I’m faced with difficult situations, choosing to pause + “cast off” what’s weighing me down helps shift my mindset. That releasing makes room for positive reflection — and a positive shift forward towards my goals and dreams.

What about you?

📊 POLL: Did releasing/forgiveness help you feel lighter this week?
✅ Yes — I felt a shift
🙂 A little — still practising
😮 Not yet — but I want to
❌ No — this week was heavy

Emotions + Wellness—made simple 💛

Your body isn’t “randomly” doing things.
Often, it’s responding to what your heart has been carrying.

God never asks us to carry bitterness, fear, shame, or heaviness alone.
We can release it—and then support the body as it returns to peace.

Simple Start (today): 60 seconds

Pause and ask: “Lord, what am I carrying today?”
Name the strongest emotion (anger, grief, worry, fear, heaviness).
Take 3 slow breaths and pray:
“Jesus, I release this to You. I choose forgiveness. Let my body return to the peace of mind You designed it for..”

(Forgiveness doesn’t excuse what happened—it frees your heart.)

Straightforward Support

When stress stays switched on, it can show up as:
• bloating / gut flare-ups
• cravings & emotional eating
• fatigue & poor sleep
• tension / shallow breathing

A quick “release + reset” calms the nervous system—so your body can digest, rest, regulate, and heal.

Practical next step (1 minute)

Write or whisper:
“I forgive ___. I release them to God. I cancel the debt in my heart.”
Then drink a glass of water + take a 10-minute walk (signals safety to the body).

Support (if you want a little help)

If you want structure, I can send you a Forgiveness + Nervous System Reset routine (daily for 7 days) with simple prompts and breath steps.

Comment “CALM” and I’ll DM it to you.
