I picked up this pebble on Winchelsea Beach and it really stayed with me.
It felt like such a clear reflection of how we move through chronic pain and nervous system recovery.
At the top could be any goal — something small or something that feels huge.
And then there are all the steps… different depths, different directions, different ways forward.
You don’t have to get it right.
You can change direction, take a smaller step, or try something new.
But what often keeps people stuck isn’t choosing the wrong path — it’s not moving at all.
Overthinking, waiting, trying to find certainty.
And yes, there can be fear in the unknown.
But staying still keeps everything exactly the same.
Any movement creates change.
Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is simply choose a direction and take a step.
