Over the years, I’ve been gently weaving the rhythm of the seasons into my yoga classes. What began as two separate passions yoga and the natural world has slowly evolved into one. This is not about perfect poses or “being good at yoga,” but about reconnecting with the body and the world around us, both indoors and out.

Join me for this seasonally inspired day as we gently awaken the spine and invite a sense of renewal into the body, preparing ourselves for the energy of growth that spring brings.

We’ll step into the woodland for a forest bathing experience a slow, guided practice of being present in nature through the senses. There’s no distance to cover and nothing to achieve; simply time to move gently, breathe deeply, and allow the nervous system to settle.

We’ll also explore the gentle principles of Western herbal medicine, foraging a small selection of spring greens to add to our food and herbal teas. For some, this may be a first, soft introduction to wild food foraging.

Thank you to What's On In Kent and Nick McGowan for all your support.

This Spring Equinox day experience is based at the beautiful Seekers Trust in Kent is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and welcome the awakening energy of spring. Rooted in the seasonal theme of Ostara, the day gently explores balance, renewal, and new beginnings.

Just when you think Networking With a Difference couldn’t get any more different with What's On In Kent partners up with Hypo Hounds for the next event Friday 30th January🐾.

We’ll have the opportunity to meet the incredible dogs currently training to become Diabetic Alert Assistance Dogs, a truly special experience. To ensure the dogs aren’t overwhelmed, the event will be split into two time slots, 10.00am and 1.00pm, with a maximum of 20 guests per session.

Expect relaxed vibes, fun conversations, and genuine connections. There’s never a dull moment at these networking events.

For a long time, I carried a quiet story about myself.
That I could not work in “normal” workplaces. That no matter how hard I tried, I would always struggle, always lose confidence and eventually be managed out of jobs. I truly believed this was a personal failing.

Everything began to change when I was diagnosed with ADHD and started connecting with other neurodivergent people. I realised it was not just me. It was a mismatch between how my brain works and environments that were never designed for it.

When formal work settings became overwhelming, I did what I have always done. I went outside.

Nature has always been my regulation. Woodland offered something work never could. No judgement. No performance reviews. Just space to breathe and rebuild confidence.

During this time, a tiny wren kept appearing to me. Often heard, seldom seen, yet astonishingly bold. It felt like a reminder that feeling small does not mean being insignificant and that a quiet voice still deserves to be heard.
Leaving toxic work environments was not failure. It was self preservation. And outside, I slowly remembered who I was.

Looking back now, I can see how far I have come.
In 2026, I am bringing this full circle by launching a Nature Club for Adults. A space to share my geeky neurodivergent hyperfocus wisdom about trees, foraging and deep relaxation. A place for connection, curiosity and nervous system rest.

If traditional workplaces have ever knocked your confidence, I would love to hear from you.

What helps you feel most yourself?

What a beautiful intro session to foraging this week! We began with a warming elderberry cordial infused with winter spices — the perfect way to open our senses and connect with the season.

Out in the hedgerows, we explored many species one being sloes, those deep purple berries often mistaken for damsons. Of course, we had to taste-test both, I even brought along some defrosted damsons so everyone could see (and taste!) the difference.

We admired rose hips the bright red jewels of autumn, bursting with vitamin C. During World War II, children were paid to collect them to make syrup when citrus fruits were scarce. Rose hip syrup has such a unique, sweet–tart flavour; I honestly can’t compare it to anything else.

We even spotted the striking (but poisonous!) Magpie Ink Cap mushroom a beautiful reminder that not everything wild is meant for the plate.

As we wandered, we spoke about foraging ethics how true foragers love nature, take only what they need, and always leave plenty for wildlife. With so much recent negativity around foraging in the news, it’s important to remember: we are all part of nature’s story.

🌿 Do you have any memories of foraging maybe picking blackberries, rose hips, or elderflowers as a child?
