🧠 JUNE IS DEMENTIA AWARENESS MONTH 🧠

🌿 What is Dementia?

Dementia is a condition that affects the brain. It makes it harder for someone to remember things, think clearly, speak, or do everyday tasks. It is more common in older people, but anyone can be affected.

💡 Common signs of dementia:

🧠 Forgetting names, dates, or events
🧠 Getting confused about time or place
🧠 Struggling to follow a conversation
🧠 Feeling lost or unsure about simple tasks
🧠 Changes in mood or behaviour

💬 Types of dementia:

🧠 Alzheimer’s disease – the most common type
🧠 Vascular dementia – caused by problems with blood flow to the brain
🧠 Lewy body and frontotemporal dementia – less common, but also serious

🤔 Is there a cure?

There is no cure yet, but support, understanding, and the right care can make a big difference.
