✨ Holiday Kitchen Deep Cleaning Checklist ✨

Christmas is only one month away — it’s the perfect time to get your kitchen fresh, clean and ready for all the festive cooking!
Here’s a complete deep-cleaning checklist to help you get started:

✅ 1. Clean the fridge — inside, outside and under it

• Remove all shelves and drawers, wash with warm soapy water
• Wipe inside walls and seals
• Pull the fridge out and clean the floor and wall behind it
• Disinfect handles — they are one of the dirtiest spots in the kitchen!

✅ 2. Clean the tumble dryer

This step is extremely important for safety.
• Empty and wash the lint drawer
• Clean inside the drum
• Wipe the vents
A neglected dryer can overheat and cause a fire, so make this a regular habit.

✅ 3. Deep clean the oven and hob

• Remove racks and soak them
• Clean the oven interior
• Degrease the hob, k***s and extractor fan

✅ 4. Kitchen cupboards & drawers — inside and outside

• Take everything out
• Wipe all surfaces and corners
• Clean handles, edges and soft-close mechanisms
• Put items back in an organised way

✅ 5. Washing machine deep clean

• Wash detergent drawers
• Clean the rubber seal in the drum — it collects mould and dirt
• Run a hot cycle with cleaner or vinegar

✅ 6. Rubbish bin deep cleaning

• Clean inside and outside of the bin
• Disinfect the lid and base
• Place a dryer sheet or cotton pad with essential oil at the bottom for a fresh smell

• Open windows for 5–10 minutes daily to let moisture escape.
• Keep interior doors slightly open to allow air to move.
• Avoid pushing furniture directly against cold walls — leave a few centimetres of space.

❄️ 2. Reduce Moisture Indoors

• Always use lids when cooking.
• Turn on the extractor fan during showers and leave it running for a few minutes after.
• Avoid drying clothes inside — or dry them near an open window.

❄️ 3. Use Budget-Friendly Moisture Absorbers
