Good luck Beula and José! Quite literally going the extra mile for our patients! 💙

Show your support and help them raise £2000 for the Intensive Care Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital by sponsoring them today!

Give online: https://ow.ly/AQf450YGVek

Intensive care units care for some of our most seriously ill patients, who need constant monitoring, advanced treatments, and a highly skilled team working around the clock to give them the best chance of recovery.

❤️‍🩹 But caring for patients in intensive care (ICU) is about more than just lifesaving treatment.

It's about providing comfort, dignity, and support during incredibly difficult moments.

🏃‍♀️ This weekend, ICU nurses Beula and Jose will be running the Brighton Marathon for our MTW Hospitals Charity to raise funds for the Intensive Care Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

The funds they raise will go directly to improving the ICU environment and supporting patient care.

They said: "Running a marathon is no small challenge, but it feels like a fitting way to support a unit that gives so much to so many people every single day.

"Every mile we run will be for our patients, their families, and the incredible staff who work tirelessly."

Good luck, Beula and Jose! We'll be cheering you on every step of the way. 🙌

When the words thank you do not just seem enough... On Tuesday we were amazed with the outpouring of kindness and generosity from the brilliant kmfm listeners who donated to the station's "Give a Gift" campaign.

Through your kindness and generosity, every child who is with us over the festive period will receive a gift, helping brighten what can be an upsetting time.

Being in hospital at any time can be difficult, but over the festive period it can be so much harder and can mean children and their families miss out on so much more.

Thank you to kmfm listeners and Stoner Motor Company for your amazing generosity and support to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust

We would like to say a huge thank you to the family of Daisy-Leigh Harmer who have very kindly donated a Rockin R games station to our Paediatric Oncology Unit.

Daisy was diagnosed with AML in October 2023 and received treatment both at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Hedgehog Ward at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Daisy relapsed last year and required a bone marrow transplant, unfortunately Daisy sadly passed away on the 28 December 2024.

She will always be remembered as a glamorous young lady who loved spending time with her family and friends and her family hope that this station, bought in her memory, will help other children who receive treatment on Hedgehog Ward.

We are always grateful to everyone who gives back to support our staff and patients.

There is nothing more rewarding as a charity than when a family give back to the ward that cared for a loved one in their final days. Thank you to the Douglas family for remembering Bryan and honouring his memory with a foldaway bed for Peale Ward., where Bryan sadly passed away 12 months ago today.

A family has donated a fold-out visitors' bed to a ward at Maidstone Hospital in memory of a much-loved husband and father, saying they were “deeply grateful” to the staff who cared for him during his final days.

Bryan Douglas was well known locally for his involvement in business and community life in Maidstone. He died in September last year and spent his final days on Peale Ward, where his family stayed by his side throughout.

The new fold-out bed, donated to our MTW Hospitals Charity , will be kept on the ward and used by family members who wish to stay overnight.

His wife and daughters say the gift is their way of giving back to the ward and helping other families in the same situation.

"When Bryan was admitted unexpectedly, it quickly became clear how important it was to him - and to us - to be by his side.

"We stayed with him throughout the week...one of the members of staff, kindly tracked down and arranged for us to use one of the hospital’s visitor beds.

"That simple act brought comfort we badly needed, and made the physical strain of those days a little easier to bear.

"We hope this bed donated in Bryan’s memory offers others even a little of the support we so desperately needed and were so grateful to receive.”
