Today, I am focussing on being thankful❤️

I am thankful for eyes that have come to see that life will not always be easy. That roads will bend. That lines will blur. That tides will rise and that storms will come.

I am thankful for those lights that took the form of human. Who shone into me when I was at my lowest. Who were not afraid of sadness, or darkness or the many layers that wove themselves around me and made me hard to understand or reach. Or even hard to love sometimes.

I'm thankful for skies that change color. For paths that change direction and for seasons that remind me that we are all just one breath away from a new beginning.

I am thankful, knowing that kindness still exists. That the truth is out there. That faith can move mountains and that I was made for every last bit of it.

Day 7 Post Hip Surgery. Today I increased my walking distance by 10% and did the walk twice. Now able to walk outdoors with one crutch. And really pleased with progress.

❤️❤️❤️The inherent human potential for joy, love, and connection, despite the ups and downs of life is powerful proof of the resilience we possess.

Although we have experienced difficult and painful emotions during periods of our lives, I am thankful that we are still able to find precious value and meaning in “just being alive.” ❤️❤️❤️

✨ A little reminder for anyone on their own journey right now ✨

There will be days when progress feels slow.
When you’re doing all the right things but results feel far away.
When life throws you setbacks just as you start moving forward.

But please remember:
Every small step counts.
Every tiny effort matters.
Every challenge is shaping you into someone even stronger.

🌿 Muscles grow in the recovery.
🌿 Skin transforms layer by layer.
🌿 Healing happens quietly, often before you see it.

You don’t need to be perfect — you just need to keep going.
Be proud of showing up for yourself.
The results are on their way. 🌈

This is what my new hip looks like.

Mr Ahad, my surgeon decided (unbeknownst to me) that I was a perfect candidate for Ceramic Uncemented Lateral Approach.

Why was this such good news for me?

My hip was replaced using ceramic because it’s super smooth and hard-wearing — great for someone active like me. The parts weren’t cemented because my bone is strong enough to let the implants naturally bond into place, which may last longer in the long run. They used a lateral approach — that means they went in through the side, which protects the front muscles and reduces dislocation risk. It’s very stable, but I have to really focus on getting my glutes strong again after surgery.

So I am absolutely delighted with this outcome. I was also blown away by the staff at Practice Plus Ilford, they were attentive, professional and caring. I really could not fault anything at all….. except maybe the soggy toast post surgery…. aside from that they were all amazing and I am so grateful for the care I received 🙏

All checked in, see you on the other side, lovely people ❤️❤️❤️
