This year, our window is brightened by a beautiful painting of Malmesbury Abbey seen across the fields from The Worthy’s, created by talented local artist Javier Garcia 🖼️✨

Take a walk along the High Street to discover lots of incredible artwork in all our neighbours’ windows too.

All of the artwork is available to buy so come and have a look and maybe even take home a piece of Malmesbury magic 💛

Our lovely Sam is heading back to uni 🎓 (already?!), so we’re on the lookout for a friendly face to join our small, welcoming team.

📅 Role: Regular Saturday afternoons starting September, plus the chance to pick up extra shifts now and then.

💚 You’ll need to be:

- 18+ (we sell alcohol)
- Happy to do a little lifting & carrying
- Friendly, reliable & ready to help our wonderful customers

♻️ Ever wondered what happens to our bulk refill containers once they’re empty? We like to use a range of circular suppliers and these ones all came from our friends at Sesi Detergent Refill.

It’s all part of a beautiful circular journey 🌍

After we finish dispensing all your favourite eco-friendly goodies here at The Wild Food Co, these tubs get sent back to SESI. There, they’re washed, refilled, and sent right back to us—ready to go again! Whether it's hot chocolate, laundry powder or washing up liquid!

SESI is a pioneering social enterprise focused on reducing packaging waste and making refill accessible for everyone. Their closed-loop system helps us all cut down on single-use plastics, one refill at a time.

🌿 Why do we do what we do? Here's a little reminder...

Running a refill shop takes more time, more cleaning, more effort, and yes – more staffing costs than a conventional store.

But from day one, our goal has been clear: to make a real, positive impact on the environment while helping our community reduce unnecessary packaging waste (and save a bit of money too!).

So, how are we doing? Well, it’s been a while since we crunched the numbers, but over the past year, thanks to *you* – our amazing customers – we’ve helped avoid an estimated 35,535 pieces of packaging waste! 💚

Here’s what that looks like:
🛍️ ~25,548 plastic bags
💧 ~6,839 plastic bottles
🍯 ~1,627 glass jars
🍾 ~786 glass bottles
📦 ~735 Tetrapaks

That’s roughly 2,961 pieces a month or almost 100 every single day – all thanks to the refill choices made by our brilliant Malmesbury community.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. So thank you for continuing to support us, and for proving that small choices really do add up to big impact. 🙌
