🎄 December isn’t joyful for everyone, and alcohol can quietly make things harder.

At this time of year, alcohol is everywhere. Social events, family gatherings, work parties, often with an unspoken pressure to drink. For some, alcohol can feel like a way to cope with stress, loneliness, or social anxiety.

But alcohol is a depressant. While it may offer temporary relief, it can intensify anxiety, low mood, disrupted sleep, and feelings of shame or regret, especially in the days that follow.

If December feels overwhelming, it’s okay to choose gentler ways to cope. Rest, boundaries, connection, and support can protect your mental health far more than another drink ever could.
