Guilt and shame are loud. But they're not always telling the truth.

When anxiety and depression are already weighing on you, guilt and shame have a way of piling on, making it feel almost impossible to find any stillness or self-compassion.

As a therapist, I see this pattern all the time. And one of the most powerful things? Realising you're not alone in it.

I'd love to create a little space here for honest conversation, because sometimes the simplest tip from someone who gets it is worth more than any textbook answer.

What's helped you manage guilt or shame? Share below, your words could be exactly what someone else needs to hear today.

Imagine carrying a heavy rucksack… every single day.

Anger.
Stress.
Worry.
Guilt... on their own, they’re a lot to carry, but most people aren’t just carrying one. It’s like wearing a rucksack that gets heavier over time. Every difficult thought, every unresolved feeling, is another weight added in.

Until one day, you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and not quite yourself…but you can’t always explain why.
The thing is, you don’t have to keep carrying it. Through the right support and tools, whether that’s hypnotherapy or other talking therapies; we gently start to unpack that rucksack. Letting go of what’s no longer serving you. Lightening the load. Helping you feel like you again.

🎒 If this resonates, it might be time to put the rucksack down. Just comment LIGHTER or send me a message to book a free, no-obligation chat and find out how I can support you.

Debt doesn't just affect your wallet, it can take a toll on your mental health too.

This week is Debt Awareness Week, so let's talk about the impact financial stress can have on our mental well being.

👉Persistent Stress & anxiety - Constant worry about money, bills, and debt can lead to chronic stress and anxiety, impacting your overall mental health and well-being
👉 Difficulty sleeping - Financial stress can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to insomnia or difficulty falling asleep. Lack of quality sleep can exacerbate stress and affect mood
👉Feeling overwhelmed or hopeless - If you feel overwhelmed by financial obligations or hopeless about your financial future, it may indicate that your finances are taking a toll on your mental health.
👉Avoidance behaviour - Avoiding checking bank statements, ignoring bills, or avoiding conversations about money can be signs of financial stress and may indicate underlying mental health concerns.
👉Impact on relationships - Financial strain can strain relationships, leading to conflicts, arguments, and feelings of resentment. If money issues are affecting your relationships, it's important to address them.

Remember, there's no shame in seeking help. Reach out today for support and guidance. If financial stress is weighing you down, don't hesitate to reach out; I'm here to help.

Struggling to sleep? Your bedroom might be the reason.

Today is World Sleep Day, a reminder of just how important quality sleep is for our mental and physical wellbeing.

But good sleep doesn’t just happen, your environment plays a huge role in helping your body switch off and truly rest.

Here are a few simple ways to create a sleep sanctuary:
🛏 Comfortable bedding – Supportive pillows and a good mattress can make all the difference.
🌙 Cool and dark – A slightly cooler room and blackout curtains help signal to your body that it’s time to sleep.
✨ Declutter your space – A tidy bedroom helps calm a busy mind.
🕯 Soothing scents – Aromatherapy candles or essential oils like lavender can help your body relax.
📵 Limit screens – Reducing blue light before bed supports your natural sleep rhythm.
🔇 Create a quiet zone – Earplugs or white noise can help block out disruptive sounds.

Small changes can make a big difference to the quality of your rest, because sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s essential for your wellbeing.

On this World Sleep Day, tell me in the comments: what helps you create the perfect sleep environment for a good nights sleep?

Feeling overwhelmed lately? It might not just be stress.

Many people use the words stress and anxiety as if they mean the same thing.
But understanding the difference can make it much easier to find the right kind of support.

Stress is usually a response to something happening around us, work deadlines, difficult conversations, financial pressures, or big life changes.

When the situation improves or the pressure eases, stress often settles too.

Anxiety, however, can feel different. It often lingers even when there’s no obvious reason for it. It might show up as persistent worry, a sense of unease, racing thoughts, or feeling on edge; even when everything appears “fine” on the surface.
Neither experience is a weakness.

They’re both signals from your mind and body that something needs attention.
The good news is that both stress and anxiety can be managed with the right support and tools; you don’t have to navigate it on your own.

If you’re unsure what you’re experiencing, feel free to comment or send me a DM, I’m always here to help and you can book a free no obligation chat with me.

When did "doing nothing" become something you have to earn?

We're so conditioned to be productive that rest feels like a reward, not a right. But your nervous system doesn't care about your to-do list. It just needs a moment to breathe.

That's exactly why I created Therapy in a Jar. Light the candle. Scan the QR code. Follow the guided meditation. That's it. No pressure. No fixing. Just space; whenever you need it.

Which candle sounds like what your mind needs right now, you get to choose from Rebalance, Just Chillinl, Back on Track, Give me Strength Rebalance & Peace? Drop it below 👇

Try this uplifting task to lift your mood this week...

This task takes just 5 mins get a notepad and pen, write down 5 things that have been pants lately. You will probably find this easy to do.

Now write down 5 Good things that have happened lately. You might struggle to do this as some people tend to focus more on the negative things in their life. You might find it takes longer to think of the good things.

Thinking of good things negates the bad things.

Then put it all to one side sit for a few minutes then take yourself back to a good time. For me its coming home after a long working day, sitting in front of the fire thats a moment when I think to myself, 'life is peachy'.

I hope this helps you, if your feeling a dip in your mood this month, then get in touch I would love to help you.

Let this be your gentle nudge to slow down and put yourself first this weekend.

Stress can creep up on us in busy times, but even small moments of calm can make a big difference.

Here are a few ways to de-stress this weekend:

🍃 Take a mindful Walk in nature
📵 Unplug from tech for a while
🛁 Take a warm bath
✍️ Get Journalling
🧘‍♂️ Try a short meditation or breathwork

Remember: You don’t need a big holiday to reset; just a few mindful minutes.

What’s one thing you’ll do for you this weekend? Let me know in the comments 👇

If life feels loud, rituals are the antidote.

We live in constant stimulation. Notifications. Deadlines. Noise. Expectations. No wonder so many of us feel overwhelmed. Rituals are flourishing because they offer something simple but powerful:
Pause.
Structure.
Meaning.

They don’t need to be complicated or spiritual. A ritual can be as small as:
• Stepping outside for 60 seconds of fresh air
• Playing the same song while you cook
• Lighting a candle and taking 3 conscious breaths

Rituals anchor your nervous system. They remind you that you have agency in your day. They turn ordinary moments into something steady and intentional.
In my latest Blog I’ve shared more about why rituals are so important right now, and how to create ones that genuinely support you.

If you would like to read the full blog comment RITUALS 👇👇, and tell me in the comments, what’s one small ritual you already have?

Is your body trying to tell you something… but you’re too busy to hear it? 😟

Stress and anxiety don’t just live in your head, they show up in your body too.

👉Tight chest
👉 Tension headaches
👉 Gut issues
👉 Constant fatigue
👉 Shallow breathing

These are all physical cries for help. But when life feels non-stop, we often ignore the signals.

This is your reminder: Listen to your body. It’s wiser than you think.

Drop a 💜if you’ve felt this lately, and share this with someone who needs to pause and listen too.
