Stress or Anxiety? Understanding the Difference Matters.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed lately, you might be wondering whether you're dealing with stress or anxiety, and why it even matters.

Here's the key difference:
Stress is typically short-term and tied to a specific situation. Think work deadlines, family conflict, or financial pressure. Once the situation resolves, stress usually fades too.

Anxiety, however, tends to stick around. It's that nagging worry or sense of dread that lingers even when there's no obvious stressor. It can disrupt your sleep, your relationships, and your daily life, even when everything "should" be fine.

The good news? Both stress and anxiety can be effectively managed. Sometimes relaxation techniques and lifestyle changes are enough. Other times, working with a therapist or hypnotherapist can help you get to the root of what's keeping you stuck.
You don't have to navigate this alone. If you're unsure what you're experiencing or how to move forward, I'm here to help.

As we wind down the weekend, take a moment to embrace the art of slowing down. In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to get caught up in constant activity, use the time to retore your body & mind.

Slowing down allows your nervous system to reset. This can help reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a sense of calm as you prepare for the week ahead.

So give yourself permission to slow down and restore. Whether it’s enjoying nature, or simply enjoying a good book, prioritise what rejuvenates you.

How are you planning to slow down this weekend, let me know in the comments 👇👇

January can feel heavy, and it’s not just the weather.

New year pressure. Empty diaries. Cold mornings.

January often comes with an unspoken expectation to feel motivated… when many people actually feel the opposite.

Low mood, irritability, tearfulness, lack of drive; these are common January experiences, not personal failures.

You’re allowed to ease into the year slowly. There is no race. No deadline on feeling “better”.

Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is meet yourself exactly where you are.

Please reach out if you’d like support getting through January gently.

Did you know 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by February?

Most people give up on their resolutions because they set unrealistic goals or try to change too much at once. The key to success? Small, manageable steps.

🎯 Focus on ONE change at a time.
📅 Set short-term goals that build up over time.
🎉 Celebrate small wins; they lead to bigger ones.

This year, make it less about the pressure and more about progress.

Have you noticed how different January feels without alcohol?

For many people, Dry January isn’t about restriction, it’s about resetting. A month without alcohol can bring some unexpected shifts:

✨ Better sleep (and actually waking up rested)
✨ More steady energy during the day
✨ A calmer, clearer head
✨ Less anxiety and emotional ups and downs

It’s also a chance to pause and notice habits without judgement. No labels. No pressure. Just awareness.

Whether you’re doing Dry January fully, cutting back, or simply becoming more mindful; it all counts.

Are you doing Dry January this year, or making any mindful changes around alcohol?

2025 wasn’t about perfection, it was about progress, honesty, and real impact.

If I’m honest, 2025 came with highs, lows, lessons… and a lot of learning.

✨ The biggest highs? Watching clients come in at rock bottom and leave lighter, calmer, and ready to step into 2026 recharged. That never gets old.

I also learned to protect my own mindset more, saying no when I needed to, without guilt.

💭 What didn’t go to plan? A new workshop didn’t take off that I launched in the autumn. I had plans to change chairs and rugs that simply weren’t financially possible this year.

I officially launched 'Therapy in a Jar', setting up a new website and making some new fragrances. I sold a lot more than in 2024 and even attended my first event to showcase them.

🌟 The biggest win? The incredible feedback on Therapy in a Jar. Seeing it support clients alongside sessions has been genuinely special.

🔁 What am I going do differently in 2026? I am going to designate time to work on my business each week.

❤️ What I’m taking into 2026,? I am going to keep my fees at a level people can afford. Therapy is sometimes essential, and financial stress shouldn’t be part of the healing journey.

Here’s to growth, not gloss.
Progress, not perfection.
And continuing to show up, for myself and for others.

If you’re heading into 2026 feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or in need of support, my door is always open. 💬 Message me for a free, no-obligation chat; let’s start where you are.

Anger. Tears. Silence. Sleepless nights. Constant tension. Heartburn, headaches, exhaustion.

Stress doesn’t whisper, it shows up loud and clear in your body and mind.
If you’re feeling stretched, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode, this is your sign to stop pushing through and start listening.

You don’t have to live like this. You can decide that enough is enough.

I help people reduce stress, calm their nervous system, and regain a sense of balance and control in their lives.

💛 Get in touch and let’s explore how I can help you feel more like you again.
