🌲A wonderful day spent outside reconnecting with nature after a long long Winter…🌲
It’s taken a little while for me to get round to reflecting on this day, and I don’t think a post can quite sum it up.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of joining Lily (.studios) in holding the first of the Brushstrokes in the Wild retreat days, of what I hope many more to come!
This one was “Sound & Stillness”, weaving Lily’s wonderfully guided watercolour painting and my soundscapes to inspire a more intuitive and expressive approach to art. Not one of needing to be “good”, but to really feel into what we were doing, where we were and reconnecting with the incredible landscape around us.
And wow, what a place to do it! Immersing deeply in the Woods and spending what felt like the first long period outside in months was a needed reset for myself, let alone the others that joined.
It was amazing to sound, drum and hold space there, with a group that felt so welcoming to it all, so I’m deeply grateful. And to be able to play my conch too to bring people back to camp!
Hopefully we will do another of these soon, we will keep you posted.
In the meantime, if you feel called to immersing yourself in sound and in the outdoors, on the 13th June, myself and the lovely Candie will be holding a Sounding the Elements retreat day in , Charfield.
And for some painting, look no further than Lily’s beautiful courses and retreats over Summer, you will not be disappointed! 🩷
