✨ Forehead lines – Understanding Frontalis Lines ✨

💉The forehead is one of the most expressive areas of the face. Over time, repeated facial movement can lead to horizontal forehead lines, even when the face is at rest.

🧠 Which muscle is involved?
Forehead lines are caused by the frontalis muscle, which:
• Elevates the eyebrows
• Creates horizontal lines when we look surprised, attentive, or expressive

Unlike other facial muscles, the frontalis is a lifting muscle, so treatment must be carefully planned to avoid heaviness of the brows.

💉 How does treatment work?
Anti-wrinkle injections gently relax the frontalis muscle, reducing excessive movement while preserving natural expression and the forehead appears smoother and more relaxed.

🌿 What results do patients typically anticipate?
✔ Softer horizontal forehead lines
✔ A smoother, more refreshed appearance

What Is It and What Can You Expect? 💭

The glabellar area is the space between the eyebrows, commonly referred to as the “frown lines” or “11s.” These lines form over time due to repeated facial expressions such as frowning, concentrating, or squinting.

🧠 Which muscles are involved?
Glabellar lines are caused by the action of three key muscles:
• Corrugator supercilii – pulls the eyebrows inward
• Procerus – draws the brows downward
• Depressor supercilii – contributes to a heavy, angry expression

When these muscles repeatedly contract, vertical lines become etched into the skin.

💉 How does treatment work?
Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing these muscles, reducing their ability to contract strongly. This allows the overlying skin to smooth, while still maintaining natural facial expression when performed correctly.
