Having used the bands personally with my horse Lily, and now with a large number of client horses, I can say with absolute confidence that they really are a game changer. To be honest, there’s no correct answer here! 🕰️

Some horses prefer a slower approach or they may have a lot to work through. In these cases I may be with them for an hour, or maybe even slightly longer in rare circumstances. I might even need to see the horse multiple times if there are more major issues. Others, particularly the younger or the more highly strung ones, may not tolerate half of that and I may be a bit more strategic with the techniques I use. Or, there may not be much to work through (which is great) and we may only need to focus on maintenance.

What I do promise is that I will palpate the entire horse and have a full understanding of where any niggles are at every single appointment. No stone is left unturned and any issues that are identified are fully treated - and I always allow an hour in my diary for every single horse I treat.. just in case we do need it!

Did you know I offer day rates for large yards? 🥕🐴

If you have a large yard of horses and would like a monthly or bi-monthly visit for a fixed & discounted rate, the day rate option is for you. Having me there for the whole day allows me to be completely flexible - some may only need checking over, some might need maintenance treatments and some might need a more time consuming/intense treatment - and it means I can usually see more horses in one day. It also allows more time for ridden assessments or conversations about all of the extras - targeted exercises, tack fit, nutrition etc.

The day rate option is perfect for professional yards in any discipline that want peace of mind knowing all horses have been checked over, and any niggles have been addressed before they spiral into something more serious. Plus - everything is included - gait analysis, all electrotherapy etc.

QUESTION: Have you ever put off or been reluctant to book an appointment for your horse because you’re worried they’ll be highly strung and do something silly? 🤪 Or maybe they bite? Or kick? Or rear?

Well I’m here to tell you that I want to see them, and I actually love it when horses show me how they feel. Their behaviour is their only way of communicating with us and it’s my job to listen. If they want to move away - they can. If they want to pin their ears at me and say owch - they can! Anything goes! It’s all part and parcel of a treatment sometimes and it should never be a reason to not book in.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep repeating it for as long as I live - if your horses body is free from tension, the chances of them becoming injured is massively reduced - this is why regular maintenance is so important. Don’t just call me when there’s a major problem! I want to see you when you think everything is good, so I can catch problems early and nip them in the bud whilst they’re small - and keep you both on top form.

The best time to prep for the summer season is now! 🌾🐴🌻☀️

EquiGate is sticking around! So I thought I’d do a recap on how to get in touch with me and how to book an appointment.

STEP 1: Download the EquiGate app! The links are in my bio (choose either Apple or Android) - the app is completely free for clients.
STEP 2: Set up your profile and add your horses under the ‘my animals’ section on your dashboard.
STEP 3: Click the ‘practitioners’ section on the dashboard, click ‘connect’ and type in code 256241 to connect with me.
STEP 4: Send me a message with your preferred dates.

The whole process takes around 2 minutes and means everything is in one place. All of your appointments, invoices, treatment reports - absolutely everything! You’ll also get the fastest response from me if you message me via EquiGate (my WhatsApp and social media DM’s can get a bit chaotic).

I am so pants at posting lately so I just thought I’d let you all know that I’m still here 🤣🙋🏻‍♀️ and give you a little update!

I’ve spent most of my spare time over the last few days brushing up and perfecting my eye for spotting lameness, gait abnormalities and asymmetries - something that I am RIDICULOUSLY passionate about, and something I believe is a non-negotiable must-have skill for anyone providing manual therapies to horses. I’ve also been doing a lot of research on identifying different pain behaviours. Knowing these subtle signs of discomfort will strengthen my assessments of your equines even further.

Lily has enjoyed a break over January, but I’ve got a flatwork lesson with her on Monday which I’m really excited about! Baby Cliquot is growing up and is still a monkey 🐵 love him.

The diary for February & March is open but availability is fairly limited, so if you’d like an appointment please let me know as soon as possible. It’s the perfect time of year to get your horses on fab form ready to increase the workload before the season starts, and ready for *hopefully* a really lovely summer.
