Happy New Year everyone
This is a polite notice that the memory trees will be taken down this weekend if you wish to remove your decorations then please do so or we can save them and you can message us to collect them
The friends of group would like to thank John Tracey once again for his donation of the trees it means so much to so many
Please see the below information posted by Dignity about removing Christmas items from your loved one’s graves.

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!
We would just like to let everyone know, that the grass cutting season is fast approaching, we would like to inform families in plenty of time, that the removal of any Christmas trinkets and wreaths will be moved to allow the grass maintenance to begin. We would like as many people to come an collect their items, but if you are unable to collect them, just let us know and we will happily save them for you until you are able to come and retrieve them.

We are going to be moving any items during the week commencing the 23rd of Feb, with Sunday the 22nd being the last available day. If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

The friends of group are aware there has been a burst water pipe on one of the taps in the cemetery this has been reported to Dignity and is being dealt with

We need your help!!!

We have been contacted by a family who are beyond upset to find that someone has removed/taken pots/vases with son and grandson on them from a babies grave if you have seen any one or have done this please contact us as the family would like them back and to understand why someone who is not the parents have removed them without consent

I have been and left 18 little snow trees and a dozen tied sheafs at the gates of the cemetery.

Please help yourselves to place one on your loved ones resting place ❤️🎄

Some of you will have noticed a white post box next to the gates of the cemetery this is no ordinary post box this is for special deliveries straight to heaven, if you want to write to your loved ones send birthday or anniversary cards this is where you can post them.

So this year’s memory tree lighting has happened thank you to those who braved the weather and placed your decorations on the memory trees for your loved ones

Thank you to Rev Beth Langner for blessing the trees and all those placing memories on the tree again this year.

A HUGE thank you to John Tracey for donating the two beautifully lit trees you can see in the photos, for you eagle eyed people checking the pictures out or visiting the cemetery you will see there are three trees we had a surprise donation yesterday from someone wishing to remain anonymous so thank you to them too, we have a forest happening this year thanks to kind hearted people here in Maltby.

Please continue to place your decorations on the tree, if you wish to have one of the wooden ones we Friends provide please do, as you will see they’re close to the trees just on the building.

Good afternoon from Friends of Maltby Cemetery we are still lighting the trees and offering warm drinks for all those braving the rain to place their decorations for their loved ones on our Memory trees, we won’t be offended if you chose to place your decorations and leave or come another day

A Big thank you to John Tracey for donating not 1 but 2 trees for us here at Maltby Cemetery for our Memory Tree this year please give him a big thank you
We have some wonderful people here in Maltby as we have seen over the last three years for our Memory tree.

Don’t forget come along tomorrow and place your decoration on our trees for your lost loved ones from 3-5pm Saturday 29 November (tomorrow) refreshments will be served wrap up warm

Friends of Maltby Cemetery are once again doing their memory tree this year thanks to John Tracey who is kindly donating this years tree

The event will be Saturday 29th November 3-5pm please bring along your ornaments/ decorations you wish to place on the tree to remember your loved ones and remember they don’t have to be buried in Maltby cemetery for you to place a token on our memorial tree.

Please be mindful that ornaments/decorations cannot be glass or ceramic for safety reasons

A blessing will be done by our local vicar Beth and refreshments will be available

Thank you to all those volunteers who came and helped clean Maltby cemetery today (not everyone wanted to be on the photo) lots of rubbish now cleared, the contractors were in the cemetery yesterday cutting branches and cleaning leaves up too so our loved ones resting place is a respectful place to visit.
Thank you to Julia Jones from Maltby Tesco who volunteered and provided refreshments much appreciated on this chilly morning

Note: can we politely ask if your leaving plastic bottles for the water can you please leave some water in the container to keep it weighted down so it doesn’t blow around the cemetery and can we please ask if you can change them regularly as they rot and become brittle and difficult to remove, thank you

At the clean up in Maltby cemetery today a volunteer found this photo which had obviously blown away from someone’s loved ones grave unfortunately it wasn’t near any specific grave to return it to and we didn’t want to throw it away its obviously a treasured memory.
If this photo is yours or you know who it belongs to please contact us so we can reunite them.

Maltby Cemetery is now on the Winter schedule and will be locked at
5 pm
