It has come to our attention that there has been a mail drop across various parts of Ryedale regarding free prescription deliveries. This has been causing quite a bit of confusion for patients so we just wanted to clarify that this letter:

❌ IS NOT from the NHS
❌ IS NOT from one of the local community pharmacies

This letter is from a Distance Selling Pharmacy based in York. If the enclosed form is completed this will then switch your prescription nomination to them, which everyone has the choice to do, but it does mean you won't be getting your prescription through your normal means.

We have had a lot of phone calls and people asking in the pharmacy so thought best to try and let people know as there have been a number of people expecting their prescription here but it isn't as the nomination has changed.

The spring Covid Booster season is upon us! Appointments are now available to book online or through the NHS booking line by calling 119. The eligible groups for the spring booster are:

🌼 those who are aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 17 June 2025).
🌼 those who are aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment.
🌼 those who live in a care home for older adults.

The Autumn/Winter Covid Vaccination program is anticipated to be completed by Friday 20th December 24. This is slightly earlier than previous years so please be aware if you (or a family member) is wanting the booster, this should be booked before then. We have just received some more vaccine (Comirnaty/Pfizer) to hopefully see us through to that date.

🌟 🌟 A member of staff is retiring at The Beecham Weigh so we are advertising for staff minimum 2
days a week? 🌟 🌟

The Beecham Weigh is one of the longest standing independent shops in Malton and is part refill station (zero waste) and part health foods store with supplements. Ideally retail experience and or a knowledge of natural health would be amazing but not essential.

What our staff would like from a member of staff? To be positive, kind and have good customer service and communication skills.

Job role would include;

✔️ Customer service and communication. After a period of 4 weeks training and working alongside other members of staff, you would be working alone mid week and another member of staff weekends (with break/ lunch covered)

✔️ Laptop use - for ordering and emails

✔️ Processing orders (work shadowing and training given)

✔️ Supplement advice with relevant training

✔️ Filling up stock and gravity dispensers

✔️ 20% staff discount

✔️ Some of the best retail pay locally.

✔️ Hours would be 9-5 Thursday, half day Tuesday, alternate Saturdays (not essential). More hours may be available to cover staff holidays etc.

MORE APPOINTMENTS ADDED!

We have just added a few hundred appointments for the both COVID and FLU boosters over the coming weeks. Please look on the NHS website for eligibility and to book these.

In particular, there seems to be a drop in uptake of vaccinations locally and nationally for those who are under 65yrs and eligible so please get your booster booked.

Covid BOOSTER and FLU appointment availability

We have created more appointment availability online for Covid Boosters AND/OR Flu vaccinations. If you are eligible for one, please book online with he NHS or by phoning 119.

If you have elderly relatives who may not have had their boosters yet this season, please speak to them and help them book.

The Flu vaccine is available on the NHS to adults who:
- are 65 and over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2024)
- have certain health conditions
- are pregnant
- are in long-stay residential care
- receive a carer's allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick
live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection due to a weakened immune system, such as someone living with HIV, someone who has had a transplant, or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis

Covid Boosters are available for those who are:
- aged 65 years old or over (you need to be 65 years old by 31 March 2024)
- aged 6 months to 64 years old and are at increased risk
- living in a care home for older adults
- a frontline health or social care worker
- aged 16 to 64 years old and are a carer
- aged 12 to 64 years old and live with someone with a weakened immune system

Autumn/Winter Booster Campaign

While we started our Covid and Flu booster campaign a couple of weeks ago, we have just (finally) managed to get appointments to show on the NHS National Booking System. We are now using the page again to prompt people to go online at www.nhs.uk/book-covid or call 119 to book for your Covid Autumn/Winter booster jab. The eligibility criteria for the Covid Booster are as follows:

- People aged 65 years old or over (you need to be 65 years old by 31 March 2024)
- People aged 6 months to 64 years old and are at increased risk
- Those living in a care home for older adults
- Frontline health or social care workers
- People aged 16 to 64 years old and are a carer
- People aged 12 to 64 years old and live with someone with a weakened immune system

When you come for a Covid booster vaccination, you can also be offered a Seasonal Flu vaccination (subject to stock and eligibility).

PLEASE ALSO HELP FRIENDS OR RELATIVES BOOK WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE NATIONAL BOOKING SYSTEM

The COVID Spring Booster Programme is due to finish at the end of June. We have just added a number of dates/appointments over the coming weeks.

Please make sure you book for your booster if you are eligible, and also encourage those who are eligible to book. In particular, if you have elderly relatives who haven't yet had their booster you may need to help them to book (either online via the National Booking Service or by calling 119).
