Our series of Christmas outings is well under way.

So far, we have been to our local school, Malvern St James to watch their production of Joseph. We also greatly enjoyed watching Malvern St James prep-school Nativity at Christ Church. We then joined in with 'Messy Vintage', a dementia friendly church service, which was a lovely start to advent. We have many more opportunities for more...fresh air in the coming weeks too.

We kicked off the Christmas Season with a German Christmas Market experience this weekend.

Our Bistro turned into a festive wonderland for the afternoon, with the sights, smells, sounds and tastes of a Christmas market. Ray Mytton set the scene for us with an hour of music. We had homemade craft stalls to look at, just like a real market. The smell of warm mulled wine and ginger bread filled the air too, as well as lots of chatter. It was busy and atmospheric as many friends and relatives joined us, as well as some of our Lansdowne crescent neighbors and members of the community who saw our posters.

Festive spirit has been filling our home as we with people living with us were making and decorating mini Christmas cakes for the last couple of days to sell on our German Christmas market. Their creativity and hard work helped us raise funds for the Alzheimer Society and our care home`s fund - and we`re still selling the cakes and more at the reception for anyone who`d like to support the cause. More fun at Windsor Court this week, as we were joined by Songbirds Ukulele Club for an hour of uplifting music. One of the people that lives with us, knows the club well and is an honourary member. He stood with the band and sang with them from the front. We love having Songbirds join us as we know we are in for a good time. We look forward to them joining us in December, when they will get us up and dancing again at our Christmas Party.

We had a very special morning with our regular Debutot children this week, as we marked Armistice Day together. There was intergenerational fun and laugher looking at remembrance, followed by a very poignant two-minute silence, the children sat so well and it was special for both them and the people that live with us.

Our first Murder Mystery Halloween Party was a great success!

Everyone had a fantastic time taking part in Murder on the Orient Express themed mystery. Many people living us joined in the fun, dressing up as characters from the story and embracing the 1930s atmosphere in our Bistro. The big reveal discovering that the Chef was the murderer brought lots of smiles and laughter.

It was a wonderful afternoon full of fun, and we are already inspired to plan another murder mystery next year!

🎄✨ Join Us for a Magical German Christmas Market! ✨🎄

Get ready to embrace the festive spirit at Windsor Court Care Home! Our German Christmas Market event will be on Sunday 30th November at 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

Enjoy live music by Ray Mytton at 2 PM, browse homemade gifts and crafts, sip on mulled wine, and have fun with gingerbread decorating!

All funds raised will be shared between the Alzheimer’s Society and the Windsor Court Residents Christmas Fund - so your visit makes a difference!

Diwali at Windsor Court was an afternoon in our Bistro, filled with music and colour.

We tried some traditional sweets as we listened to music and had a go at creating our own rangoli. The afternoon drew to a close with a dramatic retelling of the story of Rama and Sita, a Hindu story that tells where the festival of lights originates.

Those living with us and staff were our actors and did a fantastic job. There was lots of audience participation as the monkey army/ the people of the kingdom lit lamps to guide Rama and Sita home.

More...Socialising this week as we welcomed our neighbours from Lansdowne Methodist Fellowship group to join us for a Harvest Festival.

Our Bistro was full to the brim of those that live with us and our visitors from across the crescent, many of which knew each other.

Together we sang traditional harvest hymns, reminisced about harvest traditions from around the country and read harvest poems and bible readings. There was a lovely community spirit full of More...Connection as we shared tea, coffee and cake afterwards.
