✨ Resident of the Week – Gerald ✨

When we asked Gerald, "If there was one place you could visit again, where would it be?" — he didn’t hesitate:
“My old gym, Alway ABC (Amateur Boxing Club) in Newport.” 🥊

So of course… we made it happen! 💪

Gerald’s connection to Alway ABC runs deep — not only did he train there, but he helped his close friend Carl open the gym 15 years ago with the goal of getting young people off the streets and into the ring. Carl has been there since day one, and Gerald trained hard right up until a few years ago — even becoming the oldest man to fight a white-collar boxing match in Newport at the age of 70! 🏆

As we reached Newport, Gerald’s face lit up as he recognised the streets, pointing out places from his past and sharing stories along the way.

When we arrived, Carl was there waiting — greeting him like the legend he is. He told everyone:

“Without Gerald, I wouldn’t have opened this gym.”

Gerald met some of the young champions training there today — including two number-one Welsh champions — who were thrilled to hear his stories. He even joked that he plans to have another fight when he turns 100! 🥊😂

The feedback from those at the gym says it all:

As Gerald put it:
“It was the best day ever — to see everyone again, to see how far the gym has come, and to feel so proud.” ❤️

This day was a perfect reminder that living in a care home doesn’t mean life stops — there are still dreams to chase, goals to reach, and memories to make. No limits.

🎷☀️ Jazz, Sunshine & Smiles ☀️🎷

Over the weekend, our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Priory Park to watch live jazz music. 🎶
We soaked up the sunshine, relaxed in the beautiful surroundings, and enjoyed the great vibes.

It was the perfect mix of music, laughter, and fresh air — a truly lovely time for all! 💛

☀️🌸 A Huge Thank You from Blossom House 🌸☀️

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Summer Fete — what an amazing day it was! 💛

We enjoyed delicious BBQ food thanks to Ali, Simon, and our wonderful kitchen staff 🍔🌭, a fantastic cabaret singing performance 🎤, and an incredible raffle — thank you to all who donated and took part.

A special shout-out to all our amazing staff on duty, who got into the spirit and helped make the day such a success. Your energy, smiles, and hard work truly made it happen. 🌟

The day was filled with fun, laughter, ice creams, singing, and dancing… exactly what summer is all about! 🍦💃🕺

Here’s to making more happy memories together! 💐

What a heartwarming and lively week we’ve had last week!

🐾 Our residents were overjoyed by visits from our favourite four-legged friends – there's nothing like the comfort and joy that comes from pet therapy! Lots of cuddles and wagging tails made for beautiful moments.
📱 Tech time was truly special — from engaging with games and activities on tablets to making precious video calls to loved ones who live far away, helping bridge the distance with smiles and familiar voices.
🚴‍♂️ We had a great outing in the fresh air – one of our residents enjoyed a scenic cycle ride with support from our team, helmets on and spirits high!
🧦 And indoors, it was all hands on deck with a bit of practical fun – sorting laundry and enjoying the company of friends.

Every smile tells a story, and we love making these memories together 💙

🌾🐑 And for those who couldn’t join the farm trip… we brought the farm to us! 🐐🦆🐇

✨ A Day to Remember – When the Farm Came to Us! ✨

What a magical day we had at Blossom House, as our lovely residents welcomed a mobile farm right into our garden! 💛

It was heartwarming to see everyone stroking the soft sheep, feeding the cheeky goats, and cuddling the bunnies and guinea pigs. 🐏🐰🐓 These sensory experiences bring so much joy and comfort – the feel of the animals’ coats, the gentle sounds, and even the familiar smells sparked so many wonderful memories.

There were smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears as residents shared stories from their past – reminiscing about pets, farms, and country life. 🌻 Moments like these meet not just sensory needs, but emotional ones too, creating truly magical memories together. 💫

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. Seeing the happiness on everyone’s faces reminds us just how special days like these are. 💕

🌟🐷 Resident of the Week Adventure – A Trip to the Farm Park! 🐐🦚

As part of celebrating our Resident of the Week, we went out and about to a wonderful local farm park – and what a day it was! 💛

From cheeky goats to cuddly piglets, curious meerkats to majestic peacocks, there was so much to see, hear and feel. 🌾🐖🐢 The animals brought smiles, laughter and plenty of reminiscing, with stories of childhood farms and pets flowing as easily as the sunshine. 🌞

These magical moments mean the world – meeting sensory needs through touch, sound and connection with nature, while creating new memories together. ✨

Thank you to everyone who made this day so special. Days like these remind us that adventures and joy have no age limit! 💕

⛺🌞 Camping, Connection & Care – Team Bonding the Blossom & Wishmoor Way! 🎶🔥

What an unforgettable weekend! Our incredible staff from Blossom House and Wishmoor came together for a much-deserved camping trip filled with sunshine, laughter, and togetherness. 🏕️💙

From building tents, playing Twister and badminton, BBQs, music, and stargazing, to sharing stories under fairy-lit canopies, it was a time to relax, recharge, and celebrate the amazing team spirit that powers everything we do.

💬 This trip reminded us how vital it is to:

✅ Build bonds beyond the workplace
✅ Unite cultures and create joyful memories

🚤✨ No Limits, Just Living – A Scenic Boat Trip in Worcester 🕊🌉

Last week, one of our incredible residents set sail on a peaceful boat journey through the heart of Worcester — surrounded by historic views, gliding swans, and the freedom of open water. 🦢🏞️

These experiences are more than just days out — they are reminders that:
🌟 There’s no age limit on exploration and joy
💪 It’s never too late to face your fears and try something new
🧠 We always see the individual first, not the diagnosis
🌍 Everyone deserves access to the community, beauty, and freedom the world offers

It was a day filled with smiles, serenity, and the empowering feeling of being truly alive.

🚴‍♂️💨 Back on the Bikes – and Loving Every Second! 🌟

We had so much fun last time, we just had to go again — and now it’s official: biking is becoming a regular Blossom outing! 🙌

One of our brilliant residents was absolutely buzzing — an adrenaline ju**ie at heart, he couldn’t wait to feel the wind in his hair and enjoy the thrill of movement. 💚

It’s hard to put into words how powerful this experience was:
✔️ Feeling free and independent
✔️ Boosting mobility, balance & fitness
✔️ Taking positive risks
✔️ And most importantly — improving overall well-being and joy

Even with limited mobility, moments like this prove there are no limits to how we can feel alive.
