First week back after the holidays and what a positive week it was. It never ceases to amaze me the lovely people coming through the door, some new and not knowing what to expect, and becoming part of a community quickly and those who have been coming for a long time eager to return.
Whilst doing some of the Yoga practice myself, I noticed tears pouring down my face, not from sadness but from a natural release from the flow of movements, combined with the breath. Scaravelli Yoga has kept me going through the years, what I love is it is very accepting, none of us are perfect, we are all working with something, whether an ache or pain, limitation in an area of the body for example. I have a students who have had hip replacements, shoulders, knees, the lot! We all have something going on some of the time, and in those times I can give differing instruction, adjustments, or something different. One student had a herniated disc before Xmas, I was quite bossy ( in a nice way) encouraging tiny yoga movements to keep her safe, and this week no sign of the injury! Yoga is incredibly healing and stops the mind taking control and brings us back into the body, but links us to all parts of our being, hence why Yoga translates as union.
I am very happy to announce a second Meditation, Breathing and Guided Relaxation Class has been born this week, and is open to absolute beginners and those with experience. This class is on a Thursday 11:45 to 12:45, It is a mix of seated practice and lying if you wish. You can sit on a chair, or floor, however it works for you. Everyone needs an hour like this in a week, I wish every child in school could have an hour too. We all need space to unwind, connect, breath, and be guided to undo the stresses we hold, in innovative and skilled ways. Over my 21 years of teaching I have learned so many ways to do this and I invite you to come along. I am offering a free class to experience the gifts that deep relaxation, meditation and mindfulness can bring. Please get in touch to book a spot.
Hope to see you soon. Alixx
