Samhain: lighting the winter path.

As the rest of natural world retreats into darkness and dreaming, we are offered the opportunity to see the years soul journey by the brilliance of the moon and the softness of candlelight.
Gathering up our experiences and bringing them to the feet of the Yew, and the Holly tree we are called to return to the deep wisdom of the earth.

What aspects of your heart ask for connection and curiosity?
What are the experiences of the year that ask for integration?
Where does your soul find stillness and rest?

We invite you to join us for a day of gentle reflective practice as we mark the end of the celtic year and the opening of the space between entering darkness and the return of the light at the winter solstice.

Set in Malvern this day long workshop offers time and space to deepen your looking.
We are offering two Samhain workshops this year.

Dates: November 2nd and November 9th.
Venue: Flat 1, 68 Cowleigh Road Malvern WR14 1QN
Cost: £100 to include all materials and a delicious vegetarian lunch.

Looking forward to welcoming you
John and Ruth 💚

Did you know...
Moss is one of the oldest plants on Earth, appearing long before flowering plants.

Moss doesn't have roots, stems, or leaves like other plants. Instead, it absorbs water and nutrients directly through its leaves.

Many types of moss can dry out completely and then revive when moisture returns, making them incredibly resilient.

There are over 1000 species of moss in the UK, and over 20,000 worldwide.

John explains how guided meditation connects us to the trees with which Gaia's Weave works during Nature Connection celebration days.

Do you have a favourite tree?

Maybe it's in your garden, or on your way to work. Perhaps it's one that you use to mark the changing seasons; celebrating when the first flush of green emerges in Spring, followed by the full abundance of the lush greenery in Summer, before it starts to glow gold and magnificent in Autumn, then standing stark and majestic in Winter.

We'd love to see a picture of your favourite tree, or hear about it - share it in comments! Where is it and what do you love about it?

This stunning Beech is on the East side of the Malvern Hills, near where we hold our Nature Connection days.

Lughnasadh has come and gone, and the world is golden. The heat of the day, the swell of the vegetable patch, the long, warm evenings...life is plentiful and fruiting fully.

However, the earlier darkness, the falling damsons, the ripening apples - these are all reminders that we cannot rest on our laurels, we must remember to give a little thought to the coming months after harvest, when the weather will turn cold and the darkness will increase.

This is a time to create stores, not just of the fruit and vegetable harvest, but stores within ourselves, to give us strength and energy to tide us over the coming season.

Enjoy the warmth, but be mindful - Mabon comes next.

Winnowing - Sorting the wheat from the chaff.
🌱 What are you now able to harvest from all the busyness of this year?
🌱 What can you turn into nourishment to see you through the winter or store to plant again next year?
🌱 What are you ready to let the wind take and blow out of your life its work done?

As the season gently starts to shift from the easy abundance of midsummer to the season of the first harvest, the grain harvest, (Lughnasadh/Lammas) these are the questions we can consider.

Join us and reawaken the wisdom and connection we hold deep within our bodies to the wisdom of the wider natural world we are part of, through meditation and direct connection with nature.

Our Lughnasadh workshop this year will be on Saturday 3rd August, and we will be spending time with the energies of grasses and the hazel tree.

This non residential workshop will be held in North Malvern and the cost will be £100 to include activities, lunch and cake.

We would love to welcome you, email us to book your place.

August’s new moon on the 4th is a time for inward growth and reflection. As nature yields its bounty, you too can reap the rewards of your hard work.

This lunar cycle encourages abundance, trust, and finding balance amidst life's busyness. It's a perfect moment to celebrate achievements and reconnect with your inner self.

Lughnasadh marks a turning point within us. It's like harvest season for the seeds we planted in spring. What intentions or projects are coming to fruition in our lives right now? What aspects do we want to bring to a close, and what new beginnings are calling us? Let's remember, every harvest requires preparation beforehand.

"I noticed the gorgeous meadowsweet while driving through the lanes near Colwall yesterday evening. One of my favourite summer plants (well one of many) and like honeysuckle its intoxicating perfume epitomises the ease and sweetness of summer (even without the fullness of July sun we might hope for)"

Lughnasadh: Ripening Solar Gifts.

Lughnasadh is a time to soak in the sun's warmth and joy, even as we acknowledge the coming darkness. We savor the summer's embrace, storing its energy for the colder months ahead. By the next festival, Mabon (Autumn Equinox) summer will be a cherished memory, and autumn will have arrived.
