🌍 Happy World Menopause Day! Today, Let's Talk Lifestyle Medicine, Kindness, and Connection 🧡
Today, October 18th, is World Menopause Day, and I'm incredibly pleased that the theme this year is Lifestyle Medicine. This focus aligns perfectly with the holistic approach we champion at Juicy Menopause.

Menopause isn't just a physical transition; it touches every part of a woman's life. As a Certified Menopause Coach, I see daily how pivotal lifestyle choices are in managing symptoms and boosting overall well-being.

And today, I've been practicing what I preach, both for myself and for my community. I made sure to check in on my friends—some of whom are currently navigating really tough times with perimenopause. A simple message or a listening ear can truly make all the difference when you're feeling overwhelmed.

My personal Lifestyle Medicine plan for tonight?

A nice relaxing bath with scented candles and aromatherapy oils to de-stress.

My hydration and nutrition have been on point all day, fueling my body right.

Taking a good book to bed and getting a much-needed early night for restorative sleep.

These small, consistent actions, combined with things like strength training (crucial for bone health!) and stress management through connection, are the pillars of feeling better.

This World Menopause Day, let's commit to talking openly, listening with kindness, and supporting every woman on her journey. You are not alone, and you don't have to just "get on with it."

Please, take some time for you this weekend. And reach out to someone—a friend, a colleague, or a family member—you could make all the difference. Kindness and connection truly are the best medicine.

Did you know 1 in 20 women will go through menopause before the age of 45? It’s time we stop whispering and start talking.

I had to share about a truly excellent and necessary event I attended today: a webinar on Early Menopause & Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) hosted by the incredible Prof Dame Lesley Regan.

The reality is, this early transition comes with magnified challenges—from managing physical symptoms and loss of fertility to the psychological impact. We need to be talking about this more.

It was so powerful to hear the personal journeys of Emma Neville and Victoria Walkden. Their openness about their early diagnoses gave a voice to so many women who feel isolated. When you hear others share their story, it makes the whole journey feel less lonely.

Huge thanks to Dr Ellie Cannon for sharing crucial, practical advice—especially about the non-negotiable importance of protecting our bone health during this hormonal shift. And she was spot on about finding your tribe!

As a Certified Menopause Coach and the founder of Juicy Menopause, I’m passionate about turning these conversations into support and action. We can't let this remain a taboo topic.

Behind the scenes at Juicy Menopause®, there's something incredibly vital that fuels not just my business, but me as a person: networking and truly connecting with people! 🤝

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: gut health is our superpower! 🦸♀️

So, how do we look after our gut? Start with these simple steps:

Embrace fermented foods: Things like kefir, sauerkraut, and kombucha are your friends.

Stay hydrated: Water is key for keeping everything moving smoothly.

Feeling like you're on a hormonal rollercoaster? Let's talk about finding your calm. 🧘♀️

When our hormones are doing their very own rollercoaster ride, it can be a challenge to find a moment of calm. That’s why I'm a huge advocate for two simple, yet powerful practices: gratitude and breathwork.

Out of all the tips I share, I'll be the first to admit that breathwork is the one I struggle with the most! I'm glad nobody's watching me, as I spend my time trying to figure out if I'm breathing through my nose or my mouth. Then I'm holding my breath until my face is red and I'm sure I've got steam coming out of my ears and nostrils! 😂

But even with my comical attempts, I know how effective it is.

Breathwork: Simple, deep breathing exercises can be a lifeline. Just a few minutes of conscious breathing can activate your body's relaxation response, helping to soothe hot flushes, calm anxiety, and bring a sense of clarity.

Gratitude: Taking a few minutes each day to write down what you're thankful for can re-wire your brain to focus on the positive. It helps to reduce stress (and our nemesis, cortisol!), improve your mood, and can even lead to better sleep.

These aren't just feel-good fads; they're scientifically proven tools to help you navigate menopause with more grace and ease. 💚💜
