Hi, as my last day at St Saviour’s is coming up (22nd Jan) I would like to bid a fond farewell to everyone I have met, dressed wounds, injected and nagged at over the last 25 years at St Saviour’s Surgery.
There has been a lot of laughter, and sometimes tears, but I can honestly say it’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of the team.
Retirement now beckons and I will be swapping my nurses apron and gloves for gardening ones!
Thank you for all the good wishes already received.

Don’t forget that you can protect yourself against flu this Christmas. Unfortunately the NHS is dealing with a rise in cases. Still plenty in stock so call us to book yours. Free to all over 65, under 65 with certain conditions.

Firstly thank you for your patience at the clinic yesterday.

It’s not like the old days with a quick flu jab, there is so much admin and various vaccinations according to age and eligibility and only 2 clinicians and admin available to do that date.

Anyway, enough of the excuses 😆 we got there in the end and I got to catch up with a lot of you that I haven’t seen for a while.

Many thanks to our volunteers Marion and Jeremy for helping us, it’s a difficult job with such a small car park and a cul-de-sac!

We will still be running small clinics on weekdays for any of you that haven’t got round to it yet! 🦠💉

LAST SATURDAY FLU/COVID CLINIC

09/11/24. 9am -10:30am

More appointments will be available according to need.
Anyone who receives a text or call from St Saviour’s will be eligible for a free vaccination against flu, Covid or both.

If you have not been offered a vaccination and feel that you are eligible please call us for advice.
Eligibility for Covid has changed so if you are under 65 you may no longer qualify.

Under 18s at risk also welcome. We cannot vaccinate school children against flu unless they are at risk.

This is NOT a walk in clinic. Appointment only please.

For those who struggle to get in and out of the car please send the carer/friend/relative in and ask for a nurse to go out to the car park.

THESE ARE APPOINTMENT ONLY CLINICS.

When you receive a text it will be for the named person only.

For those also eligible for a Covid vaccination you can have this at the same time if wanted.

We have been advised by the vaccination committee to vaccinate the ‘more mature’ section of the public a little later this year. This is because immunity as we get older may not last as long, so they want to make sure that at the peak of flu season, i.e. Nov /Dec, immunity will be at its strongest.

If we have your mobile number we will be contacting you with a booking link soon.

Please remember that as a small surgery we have limited parking so if you can park off site it would help relieve congestion.

To those with difficulties getting out of the car, we are more than happy to come out to you in the car park.

The IT issues experienced on Friday have now been resolved.

We apologise for any delays and issues caused as a result. We expect to see some delays to service and reduced capacity in our practice through the early part of this week as we catch up.

The issues were caused due to a system failure, please be assured all patient data remains secure.
