Good news for the development of our sector. Welcome Dr Celia

Dr Celia Grummitt, CEO of GUL has been appointed as Chair of ESAP.
Dr C said "I am honoured to be taking my turn as chair of Equine Assisted Services Partnership CIC which is the holder of the Human Equine Interaction Register. When I joined the board 18 months ago, it was not with any intention of taking this position but here I am nonetheless!
I have been involved with equine assisted services for many years. I have long been aware of the way my ponies and horses help me with my own physical and mental health. As a GP I often felt I could do more to change someone's life through working with them outside and with an equine rather than sitting in a surgery in too short an appointment. I have practiced in EA Therapy for many years now and hope to bring these skills and insights into my tenure as chair.

Coming from a highly regulated profession, I am well acquainted with issues such as scope of practice and the need for assurance for commissioners and participants and look forward to being able to support the membership in our collective journey.

We have an exciting agenda for the next three years which includes widening our membership, being their voice at national level, providing the kitemark, spreading understanding and assisting providers to attain good standards of wise provision."
