Looking to get into research?

We are a research team made up of senior medical students and junior doctors who work alongside the clinical director of neurosurgery at Salford Royal. We have multiple publications with many more currently underway.

We are looking for medical students mainly from years 1-3 (though all years are welcome to apply) to be involved in data augmentation and manuscript preparation. There will then be additional opportunities to be more personalised projects further down the line if you wish.

This is a great opportunity to get started in research, get your name on some publications, and boost your portfolio.

Calling all 4th years!!!

MNS are proud to present our neurology revision series, covering all the high-yield 4th year neurology content 🧠. There will be 4 focussed history sessions on the main patient presentations, as well as sessions on neurology data-interpretation, explanations, and examinations.

We will end the series a few days before the CCA's with a mock exam.

Our fellow Neurosurgery society; Liverpool’s Neurosoc are delighted to announce their second neurosurgical skills course for medical students and foundation year doctors interested in neurosurgery
The workshop will be held from 9:00AM – 17:00PM on Saturday 15th October at the Education Centre on the 2nd Floor of the Sid Watkins Building adjacent to the Walton Centre. The aim of this workshop is to teach and familiarize applicants with essential neurosurgical skills which are regularly tested during neurosurgical interviews.

Stations include:
- Stealthstation neuronavigation & EVD insertion
- Neurosurgical Microscope
- Spinal Fixation
- BurrHole + Craniotomy & Diamond drill
Most of the stations introduce elements of both simulated and model-based skills to give applicants a taste of both experiences. Every station will be run by neurosurgical registrars from the Walton Centre who have kindly agreed to dedicate their time for the success of this educational event.
There will also be a Q&A session that will cover both clinical and academic neurosurgical application and will give students the opportunity to ask questions directly to registrars.
The fee is £55 per person which includes access to workshops, lunch, and a certificate of attendance. To apply for a place please express you interest using the following link:

Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle NeuroSocs x Doctors Academy are happy to announce the first ever National Northern England Neuroscience Conference.

We are happy to announce our theme for this year- NEUROSCIENCE ACROSS BORDERS!

Our programme for the day includes:
- Talks by internationally-renowned speakers in the fields of neurosurgery, neuro-radiology and neurology

- Entry to Training: Neurology and Neurosurgical career talk giving top tips for securing a training number. Advice given by both recently appointed trainees and also senior clinicians with great experience of recruiting at national interviews
