Ageing hits the skin - but it also hits the identity ❤️‍🩹

Most women feel guilty caring about their appearance - and it’s not because they’re vain.
It’s because they’ve been conditioned their entire lives to put themselves last.

We look after children, partners, careers, homes, ageing parents…
and somewhere along the way, we learn that wanting to feel confident in our own skin is “selfish.”

We minimise our needs.
We convince ourselves we’re overreacting.
We wait until we’re really unhappy before we give ourselves permission to do something about it.

But the emotional side of ageing isn’t vanity:
It’s the frustration of feeling tired when you’re not.
It’s the loss of glow after years of stress, hormones and responsibility.
It’s seeing a face that doesn’t match how you still feel inside - energetic, young, capable.

As a midwife turned injector, I see the same pattern constantly:
Women apologise before they even tell me what’s bothering them.
They whisper their insecurities like they’re doing something wrong.
They ask for the “bare minimum” because they don’t want to seem “too much.”

Here’s the truth:
You’re allowed to care.
You’re allowed to want to feel like you again.
And you don’t need to wait until your confidence is on the floor before you get support.

Caring for your appearance isn’t superficial.
It’s self-respect.
It’s emotional wellbeing.
It’s giving yourself back the attention you’ve given everyone else for years.

If your confidence has dipped and you’re not sure why, DM me SKIN and I’ll break it down with you 🤍

Who decides how much filler is “enough”?

One of the things I care most about as a practitioner is protecting clients from having to make decisions they’re not trained to make.

Choosing how much filler, where it should go, or whether volume is even the right answer shouldn’t sit with the person in the chair - that’s my responsibility.

What I see time and time again is that when skin quality is overlooked, results rely on constant top-ups and short term fixes. When skin is supported properly, results tend to look softer, last longer, and age better.

That’s the philosophy behind everything I’m doing now.

It’s not about removing options - it’s about changing the starting point.
Assessment first. Skin quality first. Long term thinking.

Sometimes that still includes filler.
Often, it doesn’t.

And that decision should always be guided - not guessed.

If you’re unsure what your skin actually needs, DM “FILTER FREE” and I’ll guide you honestly.

December that’s a WRAP 💞

Here’s a small snapshot of the magical month of December - although I’m very much a summer girl at heart, Christmas is by far my favourite time of the year and here’s a few of my favourite photos of this very special month 🥰

1. Festive work period
2. My partner sitting on Santa’s lap and Santa enjoying it far too much
3. Festive headband at work obviously
4. My gorgeous baby Betsy
5. Mum and daughter date for her 19th birthday
6. Christmas at the Trafford Centre
7. The omelette series continues (Dan always makes me one with usually some very questionable messages written on it)
8. Drinks and food at the gym with the best team
9. Ongoing tradition of cutting myself on all amps
10. Cute baby angels on our way to the polar express
11. Selfie as I’d washed my hair
12. Santa on the polar express
13. Arthur tactically cuddling Betsy, fully aware she’s about to kick off
14. More drinks at the gym on Christmas Eve
15. Ballerina baby on Christmas morning
16. A COMPLETE SHOCK (+++++) proposal 😩💍
17. The sweetest boy opening his presents
18. The only picture I took of Christmas dinner
19. Stranger Things OFC
20. Betsy kicking off cause she’s officially a full time toddler now

December, you were chaotic, emotional, magical - and I wouldn’t change a thing 🤍✨

After having quite possibly the worst Christmas to date last year (iykyk), I wanted this one to feel different.

This year has been about choosing my family and protecting my peace.
Letting go of what no longer felt right has given me a lot of perspective - nothing matters more than the people you love and feeling peace within yourself.

Merry Christmas to all 🤍
